In my eyes a quality striker who can win games for you is a lot more important than a decent winger.

I can't see they are going to want to keep Townsend as he is way down the pecking order after Bale, Lennon, Paulinho etc, so put in a decent offer with the Samba money, say £4m, and see how we get on
Although Townsend would be a quality signing, I just can't see it happening as there must be prem clubs wanting him.

Question - Is Townsend as good as we think?
Reason I ask is Spurs obviously don't rate him otherwise they would give him a chance instead of buying new players, also he looked good for us but was it because he was playing in a poor team and he stood out because he was one that actually made an effort and showed some willingness to win. When I have seen him play for the U21 team he doesn't stand out from the crowd. Are we over rating him because he stood out in a poor bunch last season ?????

Really good point.....trouble is, if he DID come to Rangers the plaudits here will be quick to turn on him if he fails to live up to last seasons hype.....hopefully he would be playing in a more cohesive team this coming season and consequently would not stand out so much as a star performer. We will see.!

What court case? He hasn't been charged with anything. He anwsers bail in September and if charged a court case will take around 9 months maybe more to be settled.

            newcastle united?

i think that we might be keen to get rid of the wages regardless of potential for charges being brought against remy.

dont get me wrong Iwant remy to stay first quality striker we've had in ages just saying if he has to leave would prefer a striker but lets not Spurs get him on the cheap Townsend value 3-4M parker £1m(age) and we give them a £10M striker for that
