Friend of a friend is at Sheffield United and he's on £425k a year but they get money per point, per goal, per league position etc. SUFC are a big club granted.Originally posted by Tarbie View PostIs that really the case Ric? Not doubting you, that just sounds like way too much........Player power will be the death of football!

For me I think the following would be reasonable for the leagues if a cap was put in
Prem - 2mil a season based on 40k a week
Championship - 750k a season based on 15k a week
Leagues One and Two - if your getting 100k a season (about 2k a week) your doing well in my book
Talking personally as a QPR fan I think we should be pitching at the 15k and only pushing the boat out to 20k (in the championship in the most extreme of circumstances i.e. if it secured someone like Townsend)

As in Fernandes?? I think bonuses are the way forward for our club. Obviously still need to offer a moderate wage but to pull the big bucks targets need to be met but equally the incentive needs to be set so individuals are driven by itOriginally posted by janemelanie View PostI agree with Tony. Players should get a basic salary plus bonuses according to performance.
If we get promoted we pull in what 80mil?? I would not be against Tony telling the squad now if we go up I will split 10mil between you. With a squad of 18 that half a million each

Would certainly drive teams to want to win. Could impact however on team formation depending on what you earn. Imagine the manager wanting to see out a draw at the end of the game but few players on the team thinking I need the 100% wage and ignoring instructions and pushing forwardOriginally posted by Ric-Roc View PostCouldn't agree more.
Win 100% wages
Draw 50%
Lose 25%
See more effort anyway.

Yea true. I think we're all in agreement though that the wage situation needs to be addressed urgently. An Arsenal pal read me a list of players at the club who are on extortionate wages that I couldn't believe. I couldn't name you 75% of them. All panic buys bought late into transfer windows he reckons. The combined wages must be extortionate. This talk of Wenger having an economics degree & being so savvy with money doesn't look quite true.

true ric roc - and it rewards the flops with preferential treatment too. Hello mr floppy heres your £65k for this week - you can put £50k on a bonfire in the dressing room in front of your lowly replacements - and still take home more than they do lolOriginally posted by Ric-Roc View PostWayne Bridge wanted £22k a week & we offered him 10k plus appearance money. That's the line we're going along it seems.
Closed the gate after the horse has bolted comes to mind.
