Always thought he is not good enough for the PL and was surprised he was still with WBA, but again there are better wingers than him in the Championship. Jobi McAnuff is one of them, but don't think Reading will let him go.

I'd take him without doubt - decent player that would easily do a job in the Championship.

Remember when we had him on loan years back, think it was Cheltenham away I went with me old man as a nipper and see him get sent off. Reminds me of Tarbs abit how he was back then tbf!

Could be a decent player in the Champ but we need to try and build a team with players who are capable of plying in the prem so that IF we get promoted we dont have to make wholesale changes again. Thomas has proven he is not PL quality

Don't think that's true at all mate tbf. Before this season he played 62 PL games in the previous 2 PL seasons. He has fallen out of favor with Clark, but he is a PL player easily IMO - hens why I think he would be a blinding signing in the Championship.

Each to there own, i agree with your logic but IMO Thomas has had 62 PL games to prove himself and hasn't been able to. I have to say there have been a couple of occassions where i have seen him play and he has had an absolute blinder but i think consistency might be his problem.

Maybe mate. Either way, think he would be a very good player in the 2nd tier.

Big yes. Exactly the kind of player we need
                  Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                  And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I make you right Alex we can't fill the side with all the players that could do well in the championship wev'e got to look beyond that and try to build a backbone of a side to survive in the prem for 2=3 seasons ,
Besides I think Thomas has reached his potential and would need replacing if went up , Imo we need to look at younger players with an eye on the future even if it mean an extra year in the championship

Absolutely, still only 29 and a lefty. Would be a good choice.

I would take him 100%!! defo ability in the lad just needs someone to harness it. Few comments about him not being prem quality but I give you Wayne Routledge the same was said about him after he was bombed out by Villa, Spurs, Newcastle etc but would you say he is prem quality now at Swansea without a shadow of a doubt you would.

remember when he was on loan to us about 10 years ago. Had a chat with him at the training ground, seemed like a pretty down to earth guy and was eager for a permanent move to us but didnt think we could afford him. Not sure if he is the answer but worth a punt on a bosman.

hes 30 now and his record the last few years has been pretty poor. Probably better younger players out there now.

Decent player in his day tho
