Ok...here are a few we should have tried harder for who would have been better than what we have...

Even Stead or Bent would have kept me happy. Instead, we have Simpson (who is great and I'm very happy with) Aggy and Heider along with a recovering Vine and an inexperienced Balanta.

Be honest Pete and don't p**s around trying to make things seem rosey...Are you happy with our strike force?

If you are, you don't care too much for our progression.

As I've said before...No matter how good our defence and midfield is, it means nothing without the end product. Now, Sipmson may well get 15 goals, he may get nowhere near that but even if he does, that only replaces what Dex would have done and we still needed extra even with him.

You frustrate me at times Pete as your opinion when we talk on the phone or on the way to games is diferent to what you write on here as even you agree we need a goal scorer and please do not try and make a fool of me by stating this is incorrect.

Just read that our Hooper interest will be rekindled in January. But also that Scunny are interested in taking Mahon and Alberti on loan... If we could form some sort of deal then both clubs are happy

Personally not too sure on Hooper. Saw him play for Southend a few years ago and thought he was woeful. It could be said that he could be another Kightly (now at Wolves and looking fairly handy) in the sense dropping out of league football for a spell did him the world of good. He would have had to improve an awful lot to be decent at this level. I'm not averse to taking a punt on someone but think anything north of £1-1.5 million would be pushing it.

Someone who I think could be useful 'potentially' (as he seems to have missed a fair bit of football in the last 12 months) would be Ishmeal Miller of WBA. Looked great in this division a couple of years ago, bit down the pecking order, might be worth considering?
