Granero has played poorly this season and demonstrated no fight or willingness to work for his money.

I reckon if he spent the rest of his career like he has the past year he will still have fans on this board though.

However bad he plays some will still love him

Or maybe some can simply see when a player has ability? Exactly as others have said on this thread; he is obviously a talented lad (or were his years at Real a fluke that tricked Mourinho into thinking he could play abit? ) but we were just the wrong team for him in the current shambles that we are.

Danny Parejo anyone? I remember people saying very similar things about him and he ain't done too bad for himself now has he....

Some unbelievable comments on here but then again I hear them at almost every game.

Granero is a very good player, you don't get to play for Real Madrid if you are as bad as some on here believe. Fact is when he plays we keep the ball a lot better than when he doesn't and most games are won by the team who has most possession. It's also a lot easier to move to a settled team who are reasonably successful rather than a struggling one, not forgetting he has moved to a new league and country. Wait and see he will have a very successful career in football.

Whilst we are on the subject of loyalty can someone explain how all these players who say they want to leave at the end of a poor season are slaughtered yet when Tarrabt says it after his infrequent decent games everyone applauds his name. Hypercritical springs to mind.

Granero shows no fight or determination to get the ball, that is his problem. No one is gonna hand it to him on a plate. Using your example, having played for Man U, then Park should be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but we all know generally he was poor this season. Granero will be successful in another league, where minimal effort is needed when you dont have possession - ie not what we need, and a big disappointment given what we paid for him.

Tarbs gets a lot of leeway on this board, mostly cos he single handedly won us the Championship. He may not be as good as thinks, but the big named signings have done fuk all. At least Tarbs did something for us, and if he wants to leave, I wouldnt begrudge him a move.

Matty how many games this year have you seen him play as well as Townsend for example?

And Townsend played his first ever top flight games for QPR and had no pre season joining mid way through a dog fight so that is not really setting the bar that high for a ex Madrid+Mourinho player.

Rarely mate. I'm not arguing that he has been a success story, far from it. But it just hasn't worked for him here (as it hasn't for many of our signings), but that doesn't mean he is a $hit player is all I'm saying. TIme will tell, but I am certain he will be a great signing for somebody. A side that ain't a shambles like we are.

I don't think Granero is a bad player. As he said the second tier isn't for him, but what he neglected to mention is that the Premier League isn't for him either. He'll do decently in a league where he gets more time on the ball.

I am guessing by another league you might mean such as the Spanish league where the likes of Real Madrid (who he used to play for)and Barcelona have a game plan to press the ball when the opposition have it to win it back early. There are lots of ways to show determination and players show it in different ways. He s never going to bully people off the ball his game is more about positioning and closing the opposition down by him and his team mates having the correct angles and distances.

Whilst we are on it love to know when Tarrabt has shown fight and determination, the mans frightened to head the ball !!!!

Granero is not suited to the PL. The hustle and bustle of most teams is not for him. Played well against the better teams, coz they allow to play and don't try and kick you up in the air.
He'll be ok in a better team
