..because it seems the decision-makers want 'name' players even if they are 'past it'. I wouldn't be surprised to see us go for the gimmick and try to sign Beckham.
But When I saw the line up for Everton, if ever there was a Championship defence and midfield (goalkeeper excepted) playing in the Premiership that was it. Now we have nothing to play for but pride..and most players at our club appear to lack that, so don't be surprised if we finish with less than 30 points and bottom of the table. Shameful when you consider the money invested, although in fairness we would be still be staying up with the squad we have with Redknapp in charge had we started the season with them, because it would just about have been worth it to enough players of some quality to put in the effort. Now its not, and we could be stuck with too many overpaid uncaring types giving little effort in the championship. Let's hope these fears are unfounded.
