I don't recall him getting relegated too often in that time. And we are paying much higher wages and have more money to spend than he ever has. So what is your point again?

Nobody will ever win the premiership by not spending big.
True, it's possible to survive, to continue making up the numbers, but to be really successful, you need to do what Chelsea/Man Utd do, spend money, lots of it.

That's the real problem with the premiership and why at the end of the day, it really is not that interesting. I do not think there is a real chance of a team like ours (and probably 16 of the other teams) in the premiership of ever winning it. The best you can do is get into Europe.
