Not solely blaming him Matty but think he has to take his fair share of the blame. If you play someone like Tarrabt he has to make a real difference to your attacking play as he costs you so much in other ways. He is someone who causes friction amongst players because he is lazy and when he plays its all about him. He never makes a run to create space for others and his insistence on coming short to get the ball allows the opposition to press the play and restrict the space we have to play in? Also defensively he is a real liability not just in his tracking back or tackling but by his general lack of awareness of angles and distances and his tendency to loose the ball in poor areas and when team mates are out of position.Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostC'mon. surely you aren't blaming our league position on Adel?! Our problems are far far far more deeply rooted than him. Nothing to do with him at all. He single handedly got us 3 points vs Foolham for starters.
All his managers including those at International level recognize his issues but have all tried to get that odd exceptional game out of him that gets you three points. What many on here don't understand is that it is only desperate teams that will try that and that's why no one else wants him and he will never play regularly for anyone other than a bang average side. Yes he had one good season in the Championship but I know you go regularly and like me will have seen several poor performances from him even in that season. Additionally that team was very much moulded around him and that caused problems with other players, do you honestly think he could do that again or other players would put up with behavior such as that he displayed at Hull that season.

Really,Originally posted by Dale View PostHe proved ages ago that his good enough for the Prem, your a bit behind with current events as this debate is now whether he is a legend
Ive read this whole thread twice now & seen every game he's played in (which isnt even all of them...wonder why?) and at NO POINT has he or anyone else ever justified calling him a legend or good enough for the prem.
He's a talented player, definately, but the reason he will never make it is because he has zero consistancy and therefore no manager (in the Prem) can ever fit him into thier team, as they dont know what they are gonna get from him.
Im not saying he aint got skills, but you never know which Tarbs is gonna turn up. Thats his problem and why he cant cut it.
look at the greats ie, Giggs, Schole, Keane,,even Lampard, gerrard, Suarez...everyone know exeactly what they are gonna get from them in 99% of the games they play. Even when they have a bad game they are still blody good.
Adel can be good 5-10 games a season but that aint enough to cut it in the prem...Sorry!
If we go down he'll probably go abroad to France or Germany and do well in the slower nore technical leagues. But facts have shown through stats, general concensus, pundits & performances that the Prem is a step to far for him.
To your credit Dale..You stick to your "beliefs" and you have to be one of, if not his most passionate fans. If thats what you enjoy mate, then good luck to ya but maybe take a step back and listen to others points as well?
Good luck mate!

You really are obsessed with Tarrabt aren't you! Do you not realise three of those you mention are in the twilight of their careers, with two having won the Champions league and all four either having played for one of the top five sides in the world or cost in excess of 20 Million. Oh and by the way Granero hasnt played in the Prem before this season so has hardly proved himself a Prem player. What exactly has Tarrabt done, bearing in mind he is 24, scored 19 goals in the Championship, think Bothroyd did that once, is he a legend?

When we are hailing Nelsen as one of the better players we know most have not pulled there weight
I did expect a lot more from him but then so did I for all the others
Dont know why your singling him out when others have done much worse but know some have hatred for the man so its understandable

Yea but how many of those under achievers have songs such as the embarrassing "Tarrabts to good for you" and fans calling them a legend when every other week they are disrespecting my club by whoring themselves out in the deluded hope that one of the big clubs will sign him.Originally posted by Dale View PostBeen a crappy season for him but its been like that for most of the team
