i can't help but feel that there's a bit of truth going on here...
ok, journalists don't have access to our wage bill, but on the other hand, they've got plenty of contacts with agents who probably do have a fairly good idea of what we're paying people in reality. i'm guessing lots of contracts are based on a basic weekly wage plus various bonuses based on starting, coming on from the bench, being an unused sub, scoring, keeping a clean sheet, the team winning etc etc. (a lot of the speculation about wages started on an alleged comment by joey barton to a wolves player abut his earnings during a game that barton started, scored in and we won)
it wouldn't surprise me if the figures that get regularly quoted are roughly correct (if a little exaggerated) if the player starts, we win and the player scores/keeps a clean sheet (ie it's about the maximum they could reasonably get). that allows tf to claim it's all nonsense because he can talk about the basic weekly wage without bonuses.
anyway, i really hope people are right when they say we can afford this (whatever this is) even if we go down. i looked at the championsip table for the first time in ages today... blackburn in the bottom 3, wolves only a point clear of the drop. i can't pretend that i'm not scared about what could happen if we go down and life isn't a big long cakewalk in the championship.Comment

Kia Jorabchin was the agent who did the cesar deal, I was at Loftus road when he arrived to sign with Kia and his cronies all 3 car loads of them, Jorabchin is Hughes's agent and did the majority of the deals while he was the manager. Maybe Hughes was also on a cut with all of the deals????Comment

It has crossed my mind. I would love to see us take a stand and tell players use as many agents as you want but you will foot the bill. If you want to play for QPR we want you but we wont be subsidising your agent that's your look out.
If all clubs took this stance and went through a couple of seasons pain until players and agents got the message it would make footie a better game and it would weed out the players that do want to sign for clubs form those chasing the moneyComment

it has been quite widely reported that bale was on 75k + usual bonuses. Harry made it clear that we had a number of players on more than that' including bosingwa who is not our top earner.
Agents and players make sure wages are known as it allows them to bargain better. Do you really think they don't want journals to know?? Naive.Comment

I do like the Swancelona pay structure, chairman takes an active part in who they sign, top wage is Capped at £35k p/w but bonuses are equal if not better than the top four PL clubs. No wonder they fight over who takes penalties.Comment
