Perch is a great alternative to have at RB if needed, but is being played (successfully) as a utility player this season.
Put like that one can't disagree. But the long term advantages of playing a specialist at full back can be seen by what Bidwell offers offensively.

      This.

The bottom line is we need a specialist RB, which he is not. In no way is this intended as a criticism of him (before some people get defensive), but it's just not his position. Neither am I saying he's done particularly badly in the first two games. However it is definitely an inherent weakness in the current side which better opposition will target and seek to exploit, of that you can be sure.

JFH knows all this so why do you think he plays him there?

Perhaps because he's still assessing the situation (before the window maybe). Things can change very easily. It only takes a loss (or two) or a poor individual performance.

hardly got much choice in that department though, you cant put him in the same league as bidwell yet they both start.
Nedum isn't good enough in possession and always looks rushed on the ball, it's not slating him has he tries his best but certainly are weakest area.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

The old things are going well so let's find a player to dig out thread

He's doing fine same as everyone else let's do the picking when picking is actually needed. Any player reading some of our threads must think why should I bother

If we're going be successful fans off the pitch have just as big a part to play as thoughts on it

hubble is a very intelligent man, but I wouldn't have him down as a good judge of player. I think people tend to follow his views because of it.

This is exactly what went through my mind this morning mate. Imagine the club captain bored on the train up North and googling his own name or checking the Rangers forums..... I would imagine he would be speechless.

Then again he might nod in agreement and show Jimmy

It's certainly not "digging him out". I've made that very clear in my posts, as I think the OP has too. It's simply about recognising the weaknesses within a team and coming up with solutions for them. It's a football forum, there will always be differences of opinion but that's never a reason to try to shut down debate.

Ridiculous statement. Rather choose a personality over being a robot but you carry on your hatred for fans that have an opinion.

What else is it Stan. This season he's been as good as anyone but will picking him up on things he's not done yet. All for threads and discussion when needed but can you honestly say he's done anything worse then anyone else this season to have thread dedicated to him on suggesting he's only in the team because he's captain???

Five consecutive managers have played him at RB so he suetly can't be that bad there captain of not

How much of a threat is Perch at corners and free-kicks?
