  • Really Frustrated

-West Brom moved for Pulis and are now looking for quality additions (Mcmanamon etc)
-Palace brought in Pardew and are now playing very well
    - Other teams around us seem consolidated, having a go at the cup (Villa)

We decide to keep Redknapp. Fair Enough. But its this half hearted and disinterested approach to the transfer market that really pisses me off.

Its clear we need a Striker, its clear we need a Cb and pace on the wing, but its as though we don't really mind if we don't.

Thats the difference imho to staying up or not.

I'm not saying pay over the odds for players, but to pay for a Defoe or a Crouch to compliment Charlie is worth the risk over doing nothing and losing our status in the Prem and all the money that comes with it.

Apologies for the rant but i think we could be doing a little more in regards to pro active measures to ensure our survival and not just loaning West ham players who can't make the grade like last time.

I wouldn't give Redknapp another fvcking penny. We've got another striker now in Zarate... In my mind Redknapp doesn't need anything else.

Instead of constantly wanting more players maybe he should try getting the best out of what he has got! All of his players are under par

If you're frustrated why not try having a tug? That might help....

We can't just keep chucking good money after bad. We've had several years of virtually free spending and its got us nowhere. Spending does not guarantee success and just because others are splashing the cash, doesn't mean that they're going to be safe.

We need to start getting the players we've got playing well and not just fixing the problem by more spending...

You can bet a pound to a pinch of salt that Redknapp will be looking at TDD as the time to do some real business. I don't necessarily agree with this (I'm of the opinion that new recruits should be through the door as quickly as possible) but the deadline day does have the advantage of players becoming available who may not have been at any other time in the window i.e. a domino effect. His phone will be burning up from the number of agents offering him players.....whether they are worth bringing in though is obviously an entirely different proposition.

Palace and West Brom have both all but guaranteed survival with their new managerial acquisitions - that's just the way the game works sometimes. An opportunity presented itself to the chairmen of both clubs, and they have decided to take it. Their is no right or wrong way to act at this stage. I am by no means a Redknapp fan, but I can understand the reasons behind TF's decision to keep him on. Only time will tell if it was the correct decision or not.

In my QPR lifetime (started attending games as an 8 year old in '94) I can honestly never remember QPR getting past the 4th round of any Cup competition. I may well be wrong on that however. Suffice to say though, we simply aren't a very good cup team and never will be. I know that sounds like a bit of a cop out, but it really is the truth.

Redknapp will keep buying players until his teams start winning.. that's his philosophy.

Got to the QF in 94/95 season lost 2-0 to United bar that can only remember getting past the 4th round once since then and that was in 96/97 when we lost away to Wimbledon

Not convinced either of them were really likely to go down in the first place but certainly wouldn't say they're safe... there are at least 3 worse teams than them anyway...

In fairness to Redknapp, I think that's the ideaology of most modern managers these days. You'd be hard pressed to name 5 teams in the whole of English football who place an emphasis on promoting youth over buying talent to create a winning formula.

Al I'll say is selling Phillips would be awful. I don't fancy our chances of stayin up tbh

Phillips & Austin were QPR's best players in the Championship, need to keep him so we can bounce back quick
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

You're not convinced they'll go down. But they could. But they won't. Glad we sorted that out......

Na I don't think so.. Pulis has gone in there at West Brom and has got them winning with current players. Same as Pardew at Palace.. Pulis also did it with Palace last season.
This is Redknapps team and he is still demanding new players until we start winning. Pulis and Pardew have worked with the players they have got and are getting the best out of them.
Which IMO shows them to be outstanding coaches.

I think you need a slightly larger sample size than 3 games before making that asusmption (not taking into account Pulis' heroics last season); I will however agree that they are both outstanding man managers. I'm not making excuses for Redknapp either - by any measurable definition, the man has under-performed. The fact is though that we are past the point of no return in terms of our transfer policy.

I agree we are past the point of no return and HR will demand players right until deadline day because that's what he is like. I for one am starting to wish this season was already over now knowing that HR is going to be with us for the duration of it... I really want us to start from scratch. Clear all the oldies Barton, Dunne etc.

Whether we stay up or go down, I simply cannot see this being an enjoyable half-season. It's going to be an absolute slog.
