Been saying this for the better part of 3 years. McCarthy was meant to be our future between the sticks, so was Smithies. Eventually one of these younger guys is going to need to get a run in this side. It's one thing signing a new keeper, but it's another getting a fair run to show your worth.

Green has always had issues with sorting his feet out, moving across the goal quickly. Deflection or not, no keeper should be beat from 40 yards unless it is a worldy. Thing is he still got to it but let it go underneath his body. Shame as we deserved the 3 points.

Nothing to do with age. Gianluigi Buffon is still one of the best goalkeepers in the World, and he's nearly 38. Green is as much of a liability at 35 as he was at 25.

As regards McCarthy, he came to us as one of the most highly rated goalkeepers in the country, and never got a sniff. Easy in hindsight to say that he wasn't "the solution", but he is, was and always will be a vast improvement on Green. We sold the wrong keeper, simple as that.

100% lost count of how many points this clown has cost us... A goalkeeper should be saving you in games a lot more than making howlers and with Green its about 50/50!

Can't save anything that's outside 20 yards - Sometimes he doesn't even move.

The only thing he is good at is shot stopping in and around the box.
