Faurlin has been devalued from a £3.5m transfer to a free???!!!!

    Wow - that's some depreceation!

NB - I think all those loans carry a level of fee. I know that at least two of those loans cost us six figures.

    (next year being 4th year)
Pete, I agree with you on this, Champions league football was spoke about and a 4 year plan for the premiership. Very disappointing calibre of player arrived at the club and the loans have been a farce apart from maybe 3.

What I also can see is that although there has been no real outlay on transfer fees (allegedly, as most are undisclosed) as a club we have spent vast ammounts on wages, signing on fees, agents fees, bonuses and paying contracts up.

So, although the inital outlay for these players may have been zero, they would of still cost the club money.

    Can you see that?

    GP 140k loan?

Its not an issue for me whatsoever

If he gets a 140k loan for bringing in potential investors, than that to me isn't really important. He could have walked with a better deal?? This backed up by previous chairman who have left the club??

    Pete,

If by farce you mean people backing up their points with fact which made your points redundant then I guess you must be correct.

However I have never heard of that so I take it you just decided that you were looking a little silly and you were unable to back up your points with the necessary workings out?

You said the club hadn't spent much during Briatore's reign.

    I give you;

    Ali Russell's salary,

    GP's £140k loan,

Connolly, Paddy, Alberti, Faurlin, Gorkss, Delaney, Quashie, Vine, Buz, Hall, Cerny, Borrowdale, Tommassi, Mahon, Cook, Pickens, Bircham, Sousa, Olivera, LDC, Dowie, Flowers, Magilton, Gorman and a load of other people whose salaries, signing on fees and in some cases transfer fees have all been paid by the club.

The loan players whose wages we pay/or partly pay; Hill, Heaton, Taylor, Jarrett, Lee, Di Carmine, Ledesma, Taraabt and others besides.

The "jumbotron" screen and new scoreboards. The new paintwork and seat refurbishment. The refurbishment of the C-club and corporate hospitality plus other parts of the inside and outside of the ground.

Are you seriously attempting to say that all of this cost a negligible amount?

Surely a case for locking a thread rather than deleting?

IMO deleting threads should be reserved for anything racist, libellous or defamatory.

Deleting threads leads to a culture of bullying ("It's my ball and I'm taking it home because you don't agree with me") or deliberate manipulation of the truth.

For transparency, I believe the thread should be resurrected, but locked to prevent the cycle of ******** that it was clearly becoming.

    IMO.

    Has disappeared.

Just in case anyone was unsure what it regarded Pete started it and said that he thought that the club had not spent very much in the time of Briatore's chairmanship.

A few people agree with him, and the figures that he posted regarding how much players had been bought and sold for.

However a few people, myself included, didn't think that his statistics were accurate and explained why. For example we posted links from the official website and some links from this very board from previous threads.

Pete was adamant he was correct but despite my queries as to where he had gotten his information and could he please post it up so that it could be verified he was either unwilling, or unable to do so.

However I have come back to see if Pete had proven me and others wrong (I was willing to apologise straight away if that was the case) but the thread has gone. Not moved, but completely deleted.

Why is this? Surely it can't be because Pete was so out with his stats that it reflected badly on the message board? If thats the case he could just say sorry and admit he made a mistake. There were no profanities or slurs going on either.

This censorship when things are exposed as incorrect gives out very mixed signals. However can people judge matters if they cannot participate nor see both sides of the argument?

I presume they are not supposed to.
I had been reading this thread on my phone at work during the and was looking forward to contributing to it once i got in.

I would like to say i was impressed with the well structured debate you was having. From what i see no insults were flying about for a change and there were some well balanced views

I can only assume the thread was deleted as Pete was ready to bring in the JCB to help with the hole he was digging.

Get used to having threrads deleted or moved to the board room that show GP in a bad light.
