  • Adel Taarabt

Happy Birthday Adel. Thanks for the memories most naturally gifted footballer I've ever seen. All the best!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I'd lost the love for Adel by the time he left.

But boy do we miss someone like Adel terrorising the oppo like he used to.

Willock and Chair had a few moments between them but neither were even remotely close, to being even a quarter as good as Taarabt was.
Greedy, yes, but on his day he was unstoppable.

No sideways, sideways and bloody backwards in Taarabts game!

Up there with the very best to pull a shirt on for the club and head and shoulders above anyone since Stan imo

Widely acknowledged as the best championship player ever pity didn’t get to see the best of him in the prem

He had his moments in a Rangers shirt , the goal against Fulham at home was exquisite.

Very talented lad when he could be bothered. The likes of Clint Hill gave a bigger contribution IMO.

But, yeah some great goals and he gave us that little bit extra. It's a shame great defending doesnt get the recognition that a 30-yards worldie does.

Was living in Spain at the time we had Adel. The bars fans of top gun clubs came to watch QPR cos of him. He was a unbelievable attraction.

I missed out on Stan and have to say for individual talent that promotion season best I have seen in around 40 years of supporting the team. We have had some great players over that time but he was something else. Remember one game he nutmegged a defender and for no reason other than he fancied doing it he nutmegged the same player again straightaway. Made me laugh out loud although the defender seemed to lack a sense of humour.

For that one season he had the perfect manager in Warnock and a good, super professional squad around him that gave him that platform to do whatever he wanted. Whilst we have seen some great players for other teams since then none in my view left the same impression.

Shame he couldn't carry it on into the Premiership but would have needed him to mature quickly and adjust his game which sadly didn't happen. Not to mention the chaotic way the club was run after promotion and Warnock being sacked.
