  • Pre-season 25/26

It will take place in Girona, same as last season. Is Marti still around? I would gladly re-instate him as our first team coach.

Totally agree Malts looking at the names available it's hardly inspiring
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

WTF? Why are they doing that again??? Last season we were embarrassingly undercooked going into the July friendlies and weren't much better in the initial full games. Last year's 10-day beano to Spain was patently NOT fit for purpose in terms of prepping the team for the new season ahead - you'd have thought the club would have learned their lesson so it's baffling why they are repeating the same folly.

We cant be as light-weight, poofy and easy to beat again next season - team should be on a 10-day SAS course in the Hebrides, not poncing around golf courses on the Costas...

Agree Abs. The hoped for infusion of wisdom, appears yet to have surfaced.

The gap between the last Premier fixtures (tomorrow) and pre season friendlies seems to get ever smaller.

          My main reason to post.....

Am I alone in really not liking the way that defenders are allowed to manhandle attackers? I find it most unpleasant and difficult to accept. It also does a lot to curb potentially exciting attacking play. Referees seem ambivalent to it. Shirt pulling, to a slightly lesser extent, helps to limit excitement.

I guess I'm getting old and can remember football when this was much less of an issue. But I hope some steps might be taken to stamp out, or at least greatly reduce such things.

And while I am ranting, a yellow card for anyone who goes down injured and thumps their arm on the ground repeatedly and violently. If you are really injured, you won't be doing that!
