For someone like him, it's right for us to have a look at him before parting with a fee.
He COULD be superb for us, or he could be a bit washed up.
Well worth a look, and could be the big strong striker we need to help Simpson, and take some workload off his shoulders.
Far too reliant on Jay right now.

Completely co-incidental I'm sure, but Ellington has looked half the player he was since his conversion to Islam. For a time him and Jason Roberts looked superb at Wigan but Ellington has fallen way behind his ex partner since then.

Same seemed to happen to Danny Williams in boxing...

No idea why it should be?

i don't mind us using a loan to plug a short-term gap (although we surely can't have that many loans left, and players like jack wilshere might be available) but tying ourselves to a permanent transfer sight unseen like we did with borrowdale for anyone other than gary hooper is madness. even if the likes of ellington, best etc do a job we're only going to have to bin them if we get to the prem.

I bet it's Nathan Ellington! He's not a first teamer and Watford have made it clear they want to sell and he wants to leave. Wouldn't be surprised if helguson was part of the deal..

Leon Best with the irish squad this week ahead of a very important couple of games,would be VERY surprised if it is him,as Trapattoni would rightly regard that as a distraction,and would not allow it.For what it is worth,i think he could be coming in january

So we are looking to bring in a player from a club in our division who isn't actually good enough to hold down a starting place at his current club.

Presumably it would need to be someone from Newcastle, WBA or Cardiff for this to make sense. Simon Cox is about the only name I can think of that would fall into that category.

How someone like Ellington on a loan to perm would make any sense is beyond me, particularly for a club looking to play in a higher division next year.
