A disappointing few days lately, again we had a 2nd and a 3rd yesterday, but the winners aren’t coming like they have been for rest of the year. Hopefully things will get back on track today, we just need a little luck to kick things off.

Today’s bets:

Brighton 2.20
It maybe folly to take on Mountain Cat again but his short price does mean there are some decent looking odds amongst the rest. Applesnap wouldn't be out of this on the best of her three year old form and there were the first signs of encouragement this season last time out over seven furlongs at Leicester. Although only fifth of ten she was only beaten two and a half lengths and was putting in some good late work after a few liveners from today's jockey. Her last win came from a two pound higher mark and both turf victories have come on fast ground. There looks likely to be a decent pace and, if she can keep tabs on the pacesetters on the downhill part of the track, she could be closing toward the latter stages.
Selection – APPLESNAP. 1 point E/W @ 25/1 (Sportingbet)

Beverley 2.30
The form against better horses in Claimers is not always reliable when it's taken back into handicap company but Soto had form in this sphere last season from higher marks and he looks worth supporting in his current mood. He ran well on two occasions over this C/D last Summer and has improved with every outing so far in this campaign. His tendency to try and hang in behind horses is off-putting but he is a hard horse to ignore in this grade. His five pound claimer has a reasonable strike rate at this track and Soto has proven himself on very fast ground. If he can get away on terms (can be tardy at the start) then he has the draw to gain a good prominent pitch early on.
Selection – SOTO. 2 point win @ 5/1 (Coral)

Kempton 6.20
Bold Marc should ensure there is a decent pace and, from a good draw and granted a soft lead, he could well stay there. However, even though Murrin couldn't be described as well handicapped, he could be finishing late and fast enough to take this. He has the assistance of a good three pound Claimer and has run well, with winning, from higher marks on this track. He wouldn't be the best drawn but he is likely to be dropped in early anyway so it may not unduly inconvenience him. He had been in consistent form on the polytrack since the turn of the year prior to not being disgraced back on turf last time out at Brighton.
Selection – MURRIN. 2 point win @ 13/2 (General)

Kempton 7.50
Selection – FOXTROT ALPHA. 1 point E/W @ 14/1 (General)

Kempton 8.20
Selection – SILAAH. 2 point win @ 13/2 (Skybet and William Hill)
