    So here's how it works.

We get beaten in the premier league.

Some fans then seem so genuinely shocked that, no longer content to smash up the bidet, they sound like they are about to jump out of a window.

Then by Wednesday they have cheered up and by Fri they are predicting big wins away to Southampton/ West Ham.

That doesn't happen so they get hysterical again and hang over the window ledge.

Why cant fans adapt to the Prem amd recognise that we are going to lose a lot more games than we win? If we do win - eg against Villa possibly in a few weeks - it becomes massive and worth mega celebration; if we get turned over by Liverpool we shrug and move on.

We have actually looked better than predicted going forward the last couple of weeks. We have been savaged by injury in midfield but those players will come back. Its actually our defence that is looking our weak link but they are all individually good players so we just need to hope that Hoddle can sort them out positionally.

We all knew after Remy left that the challenge would be to stay in contention until the transfer window. There have been bonuses. Who expected Niko to shape up? Or Traore, who was written off by many. Austin is doing well.

If we are still in contention by Jan, bring in Defoe, Crouch and a specialist right back will we really be worse than Sunderland, West Brom and Burnley?

Of course i know how disappointing it is to travel and lose. Surely as Rangers fans we are used to a bit of stormy weather - lets just keep it calm, amd we might find supporting the Rs a more enjoyable experience.
agree with a lot of that but without the hysteria there wld be 90% fewer posts here which would be terrible

also no chance of defoe/crouch arriving in january imo - if they were ever coming they'd be at the club now

Hysteria, I know all about that, go and read my past posts and compare them to say someone like fact, you will see I don't even swear at people and my posts are backed up by reasoning, yet someone I am the bad guy just because I stood up against some individuals who felt that anyone who disagreed with their views should be shot down on here.

The OP could have been written by Harry
        - we have been looking better going forwards the last couple of weeks
        - we have been savaged by injuries in midfield
        - the defence is looking our week link - but that is Hoddles fault
        - Remy left (actually he almost went to liverpool 2 weeks earlier)
        - My friend Nico is in good shape
        - Austin is doing well
        - My friends Crouch and Defoe will be here in Jan
        - I need a specialist right back for my 3-5-2

good post stains. too much negativity on here. many mates who are neutrals told me sunday that we werent half bad. unfortunately, improvement counts for nothing with some as long as we keep losing. (which is fair)

Improvement!!?? In what fvcking department!!.. Southampton were average and still could of scored another 3! Hitting the post twice!
The team has no direction or style.. absolute shambles at the back, worst goal difference in the league and we have a manager who likes to make every excuse under the sun just to protect himself which most of our fans believe!

Don't moan about losing Remy 'Arry when you decide not to buy another striker all summer!

you might say they were average, but theyre 2nd in the table or thereabouts. in the lead up to saturday many on here were on about how marvellous they were, yet we didnt lose the plot. and you say they couldnt scored more... as couldve we. caulker had an open goal for that header. and nikos free kick was an inch too high otherwise wouldve been in the back of the net.

nothing will change consistently until the out of touch management are replaced. Just off to check next new manager odds.

Oh come off mate.. I dunno if you were there but I was and they could of been out of sight.
You almost sound like Harry with some of your comments! I don't care if their second in the league, it aint an excuse!
We had Niko's free kick and that was it other than the goal.

I think the majority know we are gonna lose a lot of games in this league but its the way we lose. Sometimes i feel like i would prefer to lose but show loads of passion then nick a fluekey win in a game where we are dominated as per usual showing little fight to win the game or get the ball off the oppo.

The least, the very least, we should reasonably expect, is for the maximum effort put in by players, playing with pride, and playing for the fans who spend an awful lot of time and money following the team the length and breadth of the country.

Not a lot to ask for, is it?

Mate think you are misrepresenting what I said (maybe my fault for not being clearer). I actually said in another post in this thread that i wd have retired harry after the play off final so i'm hardly a redknapp groupie. Apologies also if u found my post patronising, it was not meant tb. What i was criticising is the (to me) ridiculous swings between wild optimism and abject despair on this board. At the start of the season there were quite large numbers of posters who were predicting a top half, even top eight finish. Now after a couple of predictably big defeats some are all doom and gloom. My own view from the very start was that we were slightly more likely to go down than stay up but that either way it was likely tb v close. And that is still my view. As such i am not shocked by a poor performance/ bad defeat and am delighted if we win.

I was simply suggesting this as an attitude for my fellow Rs fans to approach games but they are obviously free to reject the advice jf they want. Im not telling fans they cant be upset about losing - think in younger days i shed more than the odd tear over Rangers. Nowadays i am probably a bit more pragmatic about it, tis all.

                                Good post.
For me it`s not loosing that bothers me, (Christ knows as R`s we`re used to it) it`s the negative nature of the performances.
And that is so easily fixes with a good bit of coaching and management.
Said for a long time I would rather a good performance over a negative 0-0 or even a rubbish win.
