  • Debuts & Players That Turned Things Around In Our History?

What players started off boo-boys or you thought they would be average, that turned out good for the clubs. Anyone remember a debut of a player and he turned out to be so much better than you anticipated.

I can remember debut of Les Ferdinand for example and never thought he would turn out to be goal machine. Players like Furlong took at least 18 months to win us over.

Any debuts you remember. For example I'm too young to remember Bowles, and Marsh, anyone remember there debuts?

Clive Allen's debut when he scored a hat trick.

Especially as my mum died just before I got home afterwards.
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are...

Was it Dominic Iorfa who pulled his hamstring running on as a sub and only lasting about 10 mins?? Now he was rubbish.

Cerny...All because many fans wanted to pull down Camps pants and play with him.

          Ramage took a while recently.

I remember Zesh looking fantastic on his debut too.
          Your mum would love me...

Lee camp first game away (think it was Northampton) someone confirm, but he was a star that day

A good pal of mine Stefan Bailey...I remember the game he had against cardiff away where he won MOTM. Think his debut was against Wolves or Leeds had a good game as well. All went down hill for him after the Luton FA Cup game, got too excited returning to his home town IMO.

Remember peter crouch's debut in pre season at home think it might of been against spurs!

This stick thin beanpole with bright blonde hair, he had a unconvincing debut and the rest is history!

few players turned the hate and booboys around like tony sealey and simon barker
even david bardsley took yrs of stick
qpr fans have always got on players backs,
so why does rowly cry into his prog notes?
superior players than delaney and ramage got abuse!
                        it's not new....

as for debuts..ALAN MACDONALD v crewe, lge cup...8-1 and he scored ( maybe even 8-0, but we scored 8!) and he scored, immediately he got the nickname "big mac" from the paddock.
he'll always be "big mac" to me..macca, bah humbug!

Jamie Cureton, played against Coventry and netted a hat trick, then Holloway continued to play him as a winger, therefore became what is known as a flop. (No fault of his own).
