  • The Macheda signing.....

I simply cannot understand why we have signed him.

Let me explain, I know he has ability, talent, potential, whatever you want to call it, but he has come from a team renound for playing decent , into the strikers feet , slide balls , reverse passes to the forward type football.

Our system only caters for a "lone" front man, HH, Bothroyd, Hulse etc.

With Warnock being as stubborn as he is with tactics, I simply cannot understand how Macheda will fit in, unless NW decides to change and go 4-4-2.

I didnt realise how tall he was, but also very slight and certainly NOT a "hold" up type striker.

Macheda will not be a success if we continue as we are with formation and I can see SAF getting the hump if he does not play regularly either.

Not knocking Macheda for the hard of hearing on here, simply stating that Warnock wont change how he plays and in that case Macheda is a waste of a loan.

110% agree signing defoe, playing campbell or macheda wont work in this system. only alternative i see is nw playing the likes of macheda wide.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
    Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

He is a good signing as he will want to work hard to get some game experience, also he is under 21 so doesn't add to the 21 man squad. Simple

personly i thought he looked a big lump ,take into account DJ being injured and bothroyds reluctance to get into the box i dont see any other way warno could play it

Said all this a week ago Jeff & was constantly told how good he was & he's from utd blah blah talk.

I certainly don't think he's the answer to OUR problems.

As he is now a Rangers player for the next 6 months I will back him all the way.

If I was to be ever so critical also after an outstanding ball in from SWP Macheda totally bottled the header when he saw the keeper racing out. Granted the goalie was on the charge but I have no doubt HH would of put his head straight on that. Yes Macheda would of got clattered but what a way to start life at QPR, with a goal with your first touch.

          Never mind maybe next time.

I can see why we have signed him, U21 - not in 25 man squad. Good sub player who can change a game in the final minutes. We have played 4-4-2 a few times this season- too few IMO.

Warnock will not be a success if he continues with that formation..

Not sure on this one. We have wasted a lot of crosses in the last few games becase we've been putting the ball in where a striker is expected to attack. Macheda seems to be happy to bust a gut to get into that area, so I don't see any reason this can't work out for him.

He did bottle ut a bit on SWP's cross, but it was to be his forst touch of his debut, so I'll forgive that.

Maybe Warnocks intention is to bring in some players that will suit a different style of play that he doesn't feel his current squad is up to playing?

Let's wait 'till Warnock has had a complete window with money (allegedly) available before we judge?

I don't think for a second that Macheda is the answer to our problems, but he could be useful.

After seeing us against West Brom, Arsenal and Norwich, I couldn't help but think how much we just need a finisher, someone who will be in the box, on the shoulder of the last defender and who can basically take a touch and get a shot on goal.

Macheda can certainly do this. His overall game will not be suited to us at all, but we may find more clear cut chances if we have someone in and around the box.

Ive never rated him. He reminds me a bit of Marc Nygaard. Have you seen his stats for last season...14 appearences and i'll let you gues how many he netted (i'll give you a clue, it was a round number)

That´s what I hope as well. And just to add; I read somewhere that he(Warnock) was planning to play whatever system that might suit us.
As I see it, this signing bodes well.
