  • Gorman and The Hoddle Academy

Joh worked with Glenn with some of these players, one is actually formally a QPR player.

Hoddle started this academy up on the basis that many players make it later in life like Ian Wright for example.

Can players make it after being turfed out by clubs at say 16 or 17?

Would you be happy if one these players trialled, or do think they would never be good enough?

James symmonds is the best of the current crop at the academy and Gregory deemed him not good enough to get into a team containing stefan moore in the side, so whilst i support the venture I dont think any of these lads would be good enough for a championship team with aspirations of promotion

its not impossible, but very hard once you've been released at 16/17 to get back in to pro clubs. Remember clubs usually look at other clubs for there young talent and tend to forget the ones that have slipped away. But have no problem giving them a trial .

Think you are probably right, but plauers like Ian Wright and Sturat Pearce proved you can start playing a bit later

whilst ive never rated Hoddle, you have to hand it to him that getting Ikechi Anya a deal at Sevilla, after his release by Wycombe is a fantastic effort
