Who should we be targeting-I definatley think we need two attacking full backs that can pass and cross a ball unlike delaney!!

    Who would fit the bill?

    Spurr
    Fox?

we shouldn't be so scything on DD and PR, it's not their fault they were asked to play out of position. Any role is a specialist one and unfair criticism is unnecessary. Blame the club, not the player.

Agreed. Also Ramage and Delaney are defensive full backs which is why our defence is so tight. Once we bring in attacking full backs we will find ourselves better equipped at going forward but more fragile at the back. If we go down the line of bringing in and then playing attacking full backs we need a "water-carrier" to cover otherwise we will have plenty going forward but will be caught short at the back. IMO Lopez, Rowlands, Mahon & Leigertwood aren't out and out defensive midfielders and therefore if we were to sign a Gunter and a Spurr we would either need to play with two of those mentioned or buy a proper holding midfielder.

Sir Pie, yes and no: Lopez is an out and out defensive midfielder. It was just at the end of last season we had so little in the way of attacking flair he was asked to take set pieces etc. Also think that while Legs is brilliant at running about he is also v solid in the tackle breaking up play. Besides, if as I suspect we only buy one really good striker then that will lend itself to playing 4-5-1 and in those circs we can play one holding midfield player and another coming back to cover a lot. With only one decent striker we need really attacking full-backs otherwise we are going to have another barren run. Just don't buy it about Delaney and in particular Ramage - being a v solid defensive full backs no longer cuts it in the modern game. And if we have better options in the centre then I don't see the point of them other than as squad players.
