Villa to beat West Ham, Fulham & QPR for €14m-valued legend?
    12:46 PM 01 May, 2009
Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham and QPR are interested in Italy international striker Marco di Vaio.

The 32-year-old is currently on loan at Bologna from Genoa but will be out of contract at the end of the season and will then be available on a Bosman free transfer.

Of the above mentioned clubs, Villa are expected to offer the most lucrative deal to Di Vaio - who cost €14m in his heyday.

However, if Di Viao moves for money alone, he may accept an offer from the United Arab Emirates.

This story gets brought up in every transfer window

I would love it , but it would take a sea change in our tranfer policy to get this guy

Out of his list of choices i doubt we are the most attractive

      THIS

THIS LUNACY is the very reason why i would love to bring venables to the club
terry could go to stevenage and get a young brilliant 24 year old who would end playing for england

we currently do not have a person who has that quality to see talent in lower divisions

buying a 32 year old striker for fourteen million would bank rupt our club
because he has no re salable value

You're right. Salary and signing on fee for a player like Di Viao would be more than the transfer fee for players like Cox and Hooper.

He is valued at 14 million but he is available on a Bosman. So would not cost any club that.

The article actually says that he was worth 14 million in his hay day not now! Hes on a bosman free transfer meaning we dont pay anything for him, so how can he have a price tag if hes free?
