Adel was a puzzle, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a double doner kebab.

Wrong, TF did far more damage. Adel didnt get QPR in a financial mess and relegated twice.

Adel did plenty of damage to defences though. Fantastic entertainment. Waste of talent though.

Completely agree mate. TF, the man who brought us Barton, SWP, Ferdinand x2, Bosingwa, Park, Samba.....

Can't see that happening in a million years with Steve or any of the team.
He actually told everyone else only to pass to him when we'd crossed the half way line. He didn't trust him not to lose it in our own half.

Warnock did speak to all the senior players and explained to them why Adel was captain. I believe the conversation went a bit like "I have an idea how we can get promoted this season. Pander to Adel's ego and get him playing. You guys are the real captains, but Adel needs to wear the armband" etc.

Quite clever really. No way that squad would have ever have got promoted without Adel's goals that year. The club is in a different place now though. Building for the future, and less short term thinking. Resigning Adel at close to 30 years old ain't the answer!
