  • Go get him Mick

Barnsley boss Mark Robins says he has made enquiries about taking Wigan Athletic striker Jason Scotland on loan for the rest of the season.

Scotland only joined the Latics from Swansea in summer but although he has played with effort and determination he has found scoring goals in the Premier League quite a difficult thing to do

The Trinidad and Tobago international hit his first Latics goal in 21 games yesterday when he was part of the team that drew 2-2 at League 2 side Notts County in the FA cup.

The burly striker was prolific at Championship level though and he hit 26 last season as Swansea finished 8th and this is what Robins wants to bring to Barnsley, a proven goal scorer at that level.

The Barnsley boss admitted he is interested in taking Scotland to Oakwell, Robins said: 'If Scotland is available then I would be interested.'

Along with your other suggestion of Boothroyd, Scotland would be a fabulous addition.

Boothroyd, Simpson and Scotland - that has play off potential written all over it.
