We seem safe so maybe not the best time to think about the position of the manager. But I have made my mind my mind up about him and if a proper Championship manager becomes available we should certainly consider it.
I kinda like Julien as a bloke but with our decent squad, some of those terrible performances that we have put in, should not have happened. That is when he becomes really exposed.

Views on players can often change especially if they are played in a system that best suits their talent.
For instance playing Kone in a withdrawn striker role for the greater part of the season made him often look like a fish out of water, similarly it’s not much better to play him in a lone striker role and not having decent wingers who can regularly pick him out with an accurate cross. For an example Kolli looks to me like he would thrive if played in the pockets behind the striker and similarly Vale looks better suited threading passes from central midfield into our forward players. It baffles me how often coaches like Stephan appear to want to shoe horn square pegs into round holes and want it be seen as tactical genius.
On that note I agree with what daveshads said about winning Saturdays game despite Stéphan.

Didn't happen often Sheep!
Bearing in mind we are pretty safe mid table hope for better or worse Kolli gets regular run until end of season. Think we are at stage where he needs to either be ready for regular first team football next season or moving on or loaning out. Certainly has some ability. Nice to see Kone get a couple too.

Nice to be going into the break reasonably stressless. Can feel some sympathy for those going in to the break on edge. West Han, Spurs, Chelsea etc……(just joking about the last one).
I actually used to like Chelsea, Osgood, Cooke, Hutchinson, Cooke, Hudson, Bonetti. They need to find themselves again.
A note or negativity - sorry - I don’t believe that yesterday’s result had anything to do with Julien.

I think you're maybe still on that benderOriginally posted by Abseits View PostJust coming round from a 24hr bender... weirdest ever game (have a look at the Opta stats, Pompey beat us on ALL fronts except the one that matters). Ruthless efficiency and fantastic finishing. Still rankles with me how club ignored Kolli in favour of lumps like Armstong and Celar for so long but hopefully the lad will finally now become a firm part of our strike force.
I knew we were gonna batter them and we are deffo going to top 70pts - get fully behind the team, get to every game you can next month and watch us climb the table, we will get better every game.
Kolli is a potential star in the making bit in the same way Ravel is his own worst enemy there's a bit of the same about this lad
Yesterday we played through their lines exceptionally well and finished superbly
2 of the goals were down to individual moments of brilliance, the others due to Portsmouth just opening the door and us rolling on in
It was not a great performance, we deserved the win, bizarre game really, felt like a 3-1 but we just kept scoring
It's enough of a boost and we'll have some momentum espeically after Leicester win, but we've also lost 0-4 and 0-5 in the last 30 days
Our run in seems fine, 60 points sure why not, 70? That's 17 points from 7 matches, 2.4 a game

Maybe a little hard on Pompey. But a welcome 3 points. Did you ever think that in this division, the most important factor is how badly the worse team on the day play? It rarely seems that a victory is due to wonderful all round display.

Between the two there was the 6-1 thrashing of Luton in 1990.Originally posted by LoftusRoadLad View PostLooked it up Cardiff 2020 ??
Well that was a pleasant turn up for the book wasn't it? As said above everything we seemed to hit went into the back of the net. Thought Kolli's strikes and Smith's first were cracking! We are still a rough diamond, and for all Pompey's lacklustre showing I thought we looked better organised and more workmanlike today.

Not watched the game today but to win by this much we must have had all our injured players back?
