We do better in Wembley finals against teams playing in either navy blue & white or black & white.

I'm afraid I've finally sussed it.
We don't perform well in cups against teams who wear yellow.
Spurs, Wembley?
Oxford Wembley? Remember?
Mind you we also struggle against teams in red, blue, green, white, blue and white, red white, black and white, black, purple and any car manufacturers!!

Looks like Oxford ain’t far off selling out which should generate a decent atmosphere , can see plenty of empty seats in the rest of the ground .I’ve got bad memories of Oxford and cup competitions.

Looks as if both clubs are facing the same issues.

Remember taking my youngest to old Trafford in this cup years ago . I remember how excited he was as he was going to see his little club play the mighty man utd . Stayed up the nite there were loads of rangers in our hotel . Maybe it's memories like this that have kept him coming back

against oxford tuesday play our strongest 6 players who ain't knackered, and make the other 5 strongest who are knackered subs.
bring them on if we're losing......as 72 said, these are young men in there early 20's....christ, if they ain't up to it, they should be playing bowls.

Oxford is an opportunity to learn how to win a home game in readiness for Saturday. Game is a free hit, we may as well use it to hone the likely starting XI for Cov game.
Beating Oxford potentially unlocks £0.25million if we draw a big gun away, we can't sniff at that sort of money; it might even fund a loan or two.
Finally, from a morale point of view, getting dumped out of Cup at home midweek by lower level opposition does nothing for mood and momentum.... it looked to me that the club and fans very much enjoyed the streaky win at Os, I think that night was a factor in two subsequent sterling away performances in the league.
I agree with you that they should not be tired and rested, but that is the excuse often trotted out for making wholesale changes.
apart from resting Austin (only fit 1st team centre forward we have) I wouldn't choose to rest players - they will get a rest after Coventry for the International break.
I would like to see the likes of Armstrong, Ramskilde and Ardarkwa included in attack with a strong back 5 and midfield. It would be good to see what they can offer against a League 1 outfit.
Archer
Odubajo, Dickie, Dunne, Barbet, McCallum
Ball, Johansen,
and 3 from Armstrong, Kelman, Ramkilde, Ardarkwa, Adomah, Chair, Willock, Thomas
However, this is not what I expect the team to look like.
I agree that the potential for a decent opposition in the next round offers an opportunity to bring in much needed sums with prize money, tv money and gate receipts that are not to be sniffed at given the budget we have. those anticipated funds could be enough to get that next striker in on loan in this transfer window.
