TWO former QPR players who are sadly no longer with us will be inducted into The Forever R's Club this weekend.
Ivor Powell and Matt Brazier, who will be represented by family, will be posthumously inducted into our ex-players' association when Preston North End visit the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Saturday.
Former wing-half Powell, capped eight times by Wales, made 159 appearances for us, scoring two goals, between 1937 and 1948 after starting his career with the R’s – and was part of the team that clinched the Division Three South title in '48.
Versatile midfielder Brazier also started his career at QPR – making his debut in the Premier League and going on to make 57 appearances for Rangers, scoring three goals, between 1994 and 1998.
To mark the special occasion, there will be a minute’s applause ahead of kick-off as we commemorate the lives of the duo.
Ivor Powell entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest working football coach on his 90th birthday after 55 years as a coach. He retired on 26 May 2010, aged 93.
