The thing is, whatever the stadium, it's used around 25 days out of 365 for football. It's likely the board has plans to use the new one in a variety of ways to maximise income, therefore the design has to bear in mind the different events it will host.
If the rumours are true and it's going to be 40k with a retractable roof, it will be unique because there's nothing like it anywhere in the country, and it will be in London.
Looking forward to seeing the plans one day.

what like fulham ave gate of around 25.000 if lucky, established Prem team about the same size as us so why would we want a 40.000 stadia. we would have to take the Prem by storm win a few trophies, before all the hangers on and a new generation of Rs fan would swell our gates to over 30.000 even. and as another poster says do we want a load of fickle fans who change their teams just so they can support a winning team?Originally posted by WeAreQPR12 View PostYou can compare our attendances for a premier league side losing every week, to a premiership side competing wk in wk out.

Tis a good question. I have no doubt that there is a number of fans that don't come to home games as much as they would due to being uncomfortable and the state of the khazi's. If those things were improved by the new stadium then they may come more often, bring their kids etc.. Doubt we are talking about 20,000 though........Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostBegs the question do we want a stadium of fans that couldn't be bothered to turn up when we were losing but turn up for a flash new stadium?

I think we could. The article says £200m from us. Naming rights, redevelopment of the Loftus Road (perhaps by the club itself, as Arsenal did) and then leasing the new stadium for events could all get us thereabouts.Originally posted by 12321 View PostBind-moggling figures involved there, as the Rev Spooner might have said. A club of our size and revenue-generating ability could never afford to pay for this, so we'll presumably be tenants like Coventry were?

With our ground being surrounded by 19,000 homes I think it's safe to say we would gain many new supporters.

This will be the big question.Originally posted by 12321 View PostBind-moggling figures involved there, as the Rev Spooner might have said. A club of our size and revenue-generating ability could never afford to pay for this, so we'll presumably be tenants like Coventry were?
The whole project is clearly huge but the ownership of the ground could still be with the mittals and Tony and his friends. The shrewd investment would be to buy the stadium because also it would be very easy to sell. The stadium it's self is very affordable for our owners.

And for the long term future of the club, we do as well.Originally posted by Johnnykc View PostWe don't Matty.......but the owners probably will.
Development will take at least a decade. If we are established back in the Prem by then, our fan base will be there or thereabouts. Just look at what money into the club + success on the pitch has done for Chelsea and Fulham.
