Only joking; I love Americans; couldn't eat a whole one though.

Me + 2 mates I go with are ST holders, as are me old man & brother. Have about 3 or 4 other mates I socialise with that are Rangers and get along to a handful of games a year due to playing ona Saturday themselves. Know probably 10 or so other Rangers through various circles (excluding people off here) that don't go anymore for various reasons (be it family or work commitments etc).
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

As you may know, I'm a 'Spurs fan & on my regular forum, I'd say about 20% (& that's being quite generous) are regular match-goers. Unfortunately, too many of the remaining 80% are from the USA; don't know what they're talking about & call the beautiful game 'soccer' (it's one of my pet hates)! It's a real breath of fresh air to read some of the stuff on here and to see how many of you actually go to games.

I'm more of an armchair fan, these days - it's hard to get tickets for home games, as I live in Brum. But, if friends have spares, I occasionally get an invite.

The one thing I hate doing is watching big games (especially internationals) in pubs. Too many p*ssheads & too many of my own sex who know nothing about football, but try to pretend that they do. I know that's rich, coming from she who admits that she's 'only here for the Niko' but, believe it or not, I do have a football brain!

P.S. Apologies to any American Rangers fans, who are reading this & are offended by my comments - I was merely relating my experiences from another forum!
Mate, your lucky. Of the ya nks that would be the armchair type even if White Hart Lane was smack in the middle of Times Sq, I'd say there are 10 man utd, 7 liverpool, 5 chelsea, to every 1-2 spurs. So it could be worse. I know a guy in New Jersey who follows chelscum just because he is of Russian descent!! Imagine him on their forum??
I was going to type a bunch of statistics about how "armchair-esque" American sport fans can be, but I will refrain so we can stick to the main question of the OP.

Have to echo the previous sentiments on some posters not knowing how lucky they are. I'm on close to $1000 now (just food, airfare & LR tickets), 2 weeks into my 3.5 week holiday to see QPR. No complaints though, money well spent imo.

I know I'm up at 7am or whatever time the Rs are on, after a Friday late night out. And my mates are constantly taking the p155 out of me because they know the day I get my ST, I'm going to change my profile pic to my seat at LR with my name on it.

I dont know an armchair QPR fan personally. I know of a few who used to be ST holders for donkeys and have struggled in recent seasons to afford an ST but still go occasionally.

Most people I used to go with when I lived local still go, still meet in the same pub and still sit in the same part of the ground. I still sit with them even though I don't get to the pub too often because the lad has morning football commitments that mean we don't get to the Bush early enough. Out of the 16 of us that have been going for years and years I think only two have stopped going and one of those is doing away games with us this season
Where I live now I am shocked at the amount of Rangers fans I've met and built friendships with over the last 20 odd years. There is one crowd of 4 that comes every game, home and away, another of 7 who do all have season tickets but don't go away at all, a couple of individuals who do still go to about 10 a season and at least half a dozen others that go maybe one or twice a year and follow the rest from their armchairs. Rangers everywhere, I tell ya.

I used to be a ST holder, but due to costs and family commitments I only get to a few games a season now. This probably applies to many other fans too.

When the kids get a bit older and hopefully costs come down -new bigger stadium meaning more cheaper seats, using the TV money to reduce prices, rather than spend it all on ridiculously high wages to players (pipe dream, I know), I may return to watching games live because the atmosphere is far better and you can see what players do off the ball and their movements etc.

That would be great to get Doug in from Winnipeg and for the 3 of us to have our QPR shirts on at a Toronto FC match! I'll bet Nelsen would give us a wave, if he's still around!

Make it 3.5 Carl, my 6 year old gets a new shirt every year & wouldn't let me go without him
