We don't have the players for the wing back formation. That formation requires very good wing backs that can get up & down and offer an attacking threat as all of your width comes from them. We play it with Bidwell one side, who basically plays as a left back and gives us an almost lopsided 4 at the back, and Pawel who looks uncomfortable is that role IMO, he is far better as an out and out winger with a RB behind him.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

We can exploit our wing back system by not playing it.

Would be a great system if it was 2011 and we still had Kyle Walker.

Furlong can play it but he rarely gets a game. If we’re insisting on playing WB we really should have said furlong spots yours for 10/15 games go and make it your own

Furlong is the only bloke in our squad with right attributes to cut it as a wing back in my opinion. Perch could probably do a job there too. Bidwell, Pawel and Cousins, not so much.....although Ollie seems to think otherwise!

We dont have any decent wingers. We dont have any decent full backs. Who exactly are these wing backs we're supposed to be playing??? Talk about trying to run before you can walk......

and maybe getting a magic wand to bring back a rejuvenated Clive Wilson down the left.

Seriously, we don't have the players , nor the coaches who can coach them to play that way. It's not just the wingbacks, but neither Onuoha or Lynch are fast enough or read the game to play 3 at the back.

This, and Furlong would benefit from the sort of coaching I doubt very much we can give him. He'll end up being sold and turn into a really useful player.
