In today's mirror:
Wolves have promised manager Nuno Espirito Santo "limitless" transfer funds to turn the club into Champions League contenders. (Mirror)
What is the difference to what Wolves are doing now to what we have done in the past? Surely they must be paying well above the clubs's means which is being funded by a rich benafactor..

Championship clubs were allowed to lose £8m per season on a rolling three year period. Now it's £39m over a rolling three year period. Even allowing for the revised up limit, we were still over, and are budgeting to stay in line from now on. If you're a club with bigger gate money and sponsors, you can spend more, but any club that incurs bigger 3 year losses will pay the penalty in the form of transfer embargoes, or fines if you get promoted. Wolves for example could run up a £39m loss in one season if they hadn't had a loss in the previous 2, and budget for none in the following 2.

I'd bet there are a handful of Championship sides that will be sweating if they don't go up this year!
