Agree. Love his spirit, but no finish. Would try Wheeler next game paired with Sylla; use Smith as sub for final 20-25 mins. Bench Mackie and Washington.

Mackie had two superb chances yesterday both wasted. He is not a striker, never has been a striker, never will be a striker, I would go as far as to say he’s lucky he’s a footballer.

What is his actual position he’s no striker, not a winger nor midfielder what is his role other then being shoe horned in up top because he puts defences under pressure

He is an extention of the bench badge pulling, chest pumping up and at em type but his contribution is very little.

he does need to be dropped now tbh and only brought back in the side occasionally. he only seems to be effective when hes itching to play and is out of the team so should be a bench option or only brought in every couple of games. would still much rather we played with wheeler and sylla up front every game, for all syllas laziness he puts the ball away consistently and is always a threat in the box. i'm a fan of what i've seen of wheeler so far, looks like a right poacher and is good in the air and controlling the ball too. looks very confident and not out of place in the championship imo

mackie needs a rest , been very poor this season , bring him on to chase and work defenders at the end of games if needed , try wheeler out

That dog runs better with the ball than Mackie does.

Unfortunately, that is true, because Mackie runs around on the pitch like Holloway used to do.

In case that isn't sarcasm, Sylla has 2 goals in a fraction of the minutes on the pitch.
