I don't think Ollie is expecting forwards to track back into their own third to retrieve the ball.
More a case of making an effort to close down the player nearest you, to deny them time and space. If every player does that properly we'll win more games than we lose.
Yes there are forwards out there that spent their career loafing around but putting the ball in the net when it mattered, Berbatov being a prime example. But they were world class players in top teams, playing alongside top top midfielders who could not only win the ball but stick it on a 6 pence for someone else to score and score a fair few themselves.
Clearly it isn't just about Sylla's tracking back either, Ollie's mentioned his supposed injury and not turning up for treatment.
If you're the manager of a team and your main ethos is getting them to all work for each other, the last thing you need are players doing their own thing on and off the pitch, which seems to be what Ollie is intimating.
I actually like Sylla and think he could be a proper forward for us, why doesn't he just tow the line a bit, that's all Ollie is asking. If he can do what he's asked by Ollie, for the good of the team, but still score goals, just get on and do it ffs.
