  • The New QPR Core

Four players now constitute the QPR core, around which the club can build a new tradition for character and winning (and without which we are relegation bound). The four: Smithies (the rock in goal who makes every game seem winnable); Onouha (yes, not perfect but arguably the steadiest and healthiest we've had in defense for the past five years); Scowen (he's as advertised: dogged, aggressive, spirited); and Freeman (short of a final scoring touch, he's just bloody awesome as a constant threat whenever he touches the ball). Hall could rejoin this pantheon if he returns to health. All others have good games and bad, raise our hopes and dash them, but for my money Ollie (and all Rangers fans) are blessed to have the core four.

I'd add Pawel to that list. Really needs to start every game.

Sylla showed on Tuesday that he should not be starting games. He's an impact sub.

having manning and chair to create chances for him is never going to happen mate.

he needs to be given the supply from scowen, freeman and luongo, along with woslek.

Smithies, Freeman, Scowen, Wzsolek our top four. Also glad to see Bidwell and Perch having a good start for the season. Interesting to see if Hall will be a core player.

Timmy. I would suggest Hall is a must!

i like bidwell, always have. always delivers a good cross into the box. likes to get forward. not the quickest in the world but he is steady, would much rather steady than someone who is inconsistant

But that was close to a match for the reserves?

Hall,Luongo and Pawel can all be added to that 4 imo - all good champ players

                        for me
smithies, freeman, scowen, hall......at the very least build the team round these four.

the rest for me are a blend of past it, not good enough for this division, and most importantly, inconsistent on a regular basis.

this, on a weekly basis too. the guy cant be judged for not scoring against brentford, hes too good to be an impact sub but needs regular game time to show how good he can be. him alongside washington would be good imo.

I said the same last season mate. He always seemed to score more when coming off the bench. That may just be me, I dunno if there's a stat somewhere for that.

At this level, Sylla is a striker. CW is not.

Football is a very simple game.
