  • Warnock is a Championship Genius..but we'd still have lost v Brentford

If we get a result v Cardiff it will be quite an achievement. We know Warnock, we know he was the only manager/coach to get Taarabt playing with passion ( a huge achievement in itself). And then Ipswich. Bad luck we've got two marginally above average championship sides who are red hot at the moment. I'd be very surprised if Ipswich make the play-offs or better. But Cardiff with Warnock could do a Huddersfield. We it seems, didn't want Warnock (I really hope I'm wrong...).

But, anyone who expected us to put in anything other than a poor performance against Brentford in their Cup Final is fooling themselves. I still hoped we could win despite being certain we'd play crap, but it wasn't to be.

I really like Bircham (he'd make a great cheerleader) but we need a decent assistant coach if we're going to finish well clear of relegation this season,I think. Bircham is certainly not that coach, we all know that.

id be happy if cardiff went up this season just so warnock could have another deserved shot in the prem. i do agree we need another coach though and someone a bit more tactically sound just so we have all the bases covered. weve played good stuff so far this season but need to keep it up, everyone always says how good a team ollie and jacket were in ollies first spell

Yep, a feat right up there with beating Cardiff twice last season for me.

Christ, a couple of wins and everything really is rosey in the garden for some - how desperate. Pointing out we're 6th in the table, it's embarrassing. We've played FOUR league GAMES! Can we calm down and stop thinking Ollie is this sudden genius beamed down from outer space.

There deserves to be criticism where due, there's nothing wrong with discussing it. We don't all have to lap up Ollie and milk every win for the sake of it.

The reality is as said above, we started well last season and look how it ended. Knowing how mentally weak and vulnerable is the result last night is shocking because of the impact it could have, going on previous experiences with Rangers. Why not just tread carefully rather than getting ahead of ourselves.

Thing is no one is claiming its all rosey at all, its all the doom mongers that have been dying to post but have struggled in the last few weeks cos we`ve done well, but there out in force after last night, hence just reminded the op that we`re 6th so why at this moment would we need a new coach?! honestly it cracks me up, god help us on here if we lose saturday!

Pinkie, have you read your posts mate... if they are doom mongers then you're doing your very best to look like a happy clapper haha.

They are allowed to be out in force after that performance, it was awful and a throwback to last season - there'd be something very wrong if people just sat there and accepted it!
Some people have more constructive and criticizing opinions then others. It'd be a pretty boring place if everyone just sat back and went, 'unlucky lads, good effort'.

People are worried that performance last night could have a detrimental affect going forward now.

Its pointless over analyising that performance cos there was soo much wrong with it!

Which, IMO, is not a problem when only about 3 of those involved last night will start on Saturday.

How did we do in the 6 games after getting tonked by Newcastle last season?

So as fans we can't/shouldn't criticize that performance or any performance on a football forum? We shouldn't discuss our concerns, no?

Most of that team that was involved and finished the game will play on Saturday and played a hell of a lot under Ollie last year... Baptiste, Yeni, Pawel, Sylla, Mackie, Freeman, Smith - could all be involved Saturday. What am I missing here? Manning and Furlong were seen as hopes to nail down spots in the team this year?

We didn't win many after Newcastle last season I can tell you that. Onuoha, Caulker, Hall, Bidwell, Perch, Yeni, Washington all played in that game. We arguably had as strong a team out as that last night against a worse side. The only player last night that weren't first time and who will find their chances limited this season is, Chair.
