Excellent thread and another key point raised by Purgsie is the quality of the coaching team I have never considered that before but it's blinding point

for me the finger can be pointed at everyone it started when Bernie & Flabby were willing to leave us high and dry once we went up and we have never ever recovered fully from that moment think we're making strides now but in doing so it's putting fans noses out who think the austerity at the club has gone to far.

TF and board have been too weak but for the right reasons but in doing so have harmed the club, the managers have been shocking choices. I don't actually think Les is doing bad job he's doing the job he's been asked to do

But for me the two biggest people in our demise rarely mentioned now we're Beard and Rigg. Beard was simply out of his depth but Rigg saw us as a toy it was real life football manager for him

this really for the most part. i'm an ollie supporter for the most part but i can see the same thing repeating itself come october although i hope i'm wrong.

thing is, he has had us playing some good football and the peterbrough game showed some promise.

i agree with tarbs though that we're far from a quickfix, theres years of rebuilding ahead but thats not ollies fault, hes inherited a club thats in turmoil atm.
but who knows how we'll do anyway? ollie does specialise in clubs like ours and made some good signings in jan like freeman for example, and at least our youth players are looking good.

Great topic, for me it's frustrating that everything from the owners down has been a disaster, it's not really a grievance against any individuals, I couldn't believe Holloway was even in the running for the job and JFH was a gamble that backfired, if I have to name a gripe it's choice of managers (but I don't have the answer to who else could have come) and the massive money spend which has achieved nothing.
I still want Holloway and the squad to do well but I fear we may get a bad start, this is qpr so who knows!

I like Olly and think that he should be given more time. However the issue with the club is expectation. We have been getting tweets and suggestions from the club that imply that the club is moving forward, however this isn't the evidence we see. Selling a youngster who doesn't want to sign a new contract makes sense, but the lack of re-investment causes concern. The FFP is a joke that should have been cleared up a long time ago, and this makes it difficult to plan for the future.

Easy for me Manager & DOF gone and someone else to work with a Talent limited squad of players, but no descent manager will come while the DOF is there ask Neil Warnock

I agree ,so the real question should be will the chairman ever a point a DoF to undermine him,the answer is NO so to both questions

Bit of everything mate to be honest.

A chairman who has overseen the biggest financial c0ck up in the clubs history.

A DOF with no experience of the role who's made continual bad decisions and appointments.

A poor manager with a very poor record over the last 6-7 years accompanied by a coach who's just a former player and fan in my book.

A squad that's very unbalanced and completely lacking in flair.

New strategy appears to be throw the youth in and depend on them because we haven't got money to spend.

BS and crap about training grounds and a new stadium.

The whole club is just a mess to be honest.

The above is what i think plus lack of comms between fans and club, lack of honesty and the whole FFP scenario makes us look a disorganised
bunch of amateurs who say a lot and promise a lot but actually achieve nothing in real terms, which i suppose equals BS.
I would also add a very poor scouting network which was one of our major plus points, hopefully with Penrice etc this will improve
                        but only time will tell.
One last point the catastrophic signings of some individuals,i wont call them players but we all know who they are.
                        Caulker drink and gambling problems
                        Boswinga just a money grabbing
                        Barton just to much baggage
Samba just a total knee jerk signing

and the list goes on and not only signing them but the contracts they were given utter nonsense doesnt any one do their homework for christ sake.

Over the course of a season I don't think this squad will be good enough to stay up comfortably.

With a few more quality additions then this squad may be good enough to stay up comfortably, but even with a better squad I don't think Ollie is the man to take us any further than mid-table.

So in short and answer to this thread - it's a bit of both from me.

I think it is the whole coaching team. He should have picked decent staff to compensate for his weaknesses , Bircham and a defensive coach from a team that is no longer in the league does not really inspire me.
We would have been better spending wages on this rather than a DOF ,a Head Scout and Scouting Consultant and whatever job was created for the P E teacher.

So you want to get rid of the new scouts and head of youth development just as results are starting to show?
