  • Trevor Sinclair on the selective use of stats

Nasser (and others), if you haven't heard it yet, I recommend a listen to the end of season podcast mate with R's legend Trevor Sinclair discussing the use of stats in modern-day football. Some food for thought there IMO from an ex-pro, international and now a coach: https://soundcloud.com/west-twelve-m...-live-part-one

that's why for stats Luongo was 1 of the top 5 championship midfielders but as you see it, he doesn't even make the championship west london team.

Stats are (rap and can be made to look like you want them too just look at all the stats that will be banded about during the election campaign
, the only stats that matter is what the score is and who scored the goals

            Have 99% of possession

            Lose ball once

            Concede goal

            Lose 1-0

            Stats ain't worth a w@nk

Heres a stat that shocked me.
JFH never lost more than two games in the trot.

                  Here's some stats:

2 x 6 losses on the bounce in less than one season (we've managed 6 successive losses only 3 times previously in 135 years)
1 win from last 8 games
3 points from the last 24 available
1 goal per 7 games = Conor Washington's strike ratio
