so far, we have received around 2mil for the sale of 3 players.

now, preseason is almost over, and none of that money has been reinvested.
Generate money through sales? Ha ha, that's probably the problem then...? Noone is daft enough to want to buy any of our crap that we are trying to offload! It'll only be the better players (Smithies, Freeman, Wszolek, Manning, Sylla) who will generate any interest, and the last thing we should want to do is get rid of any of them!

However, if this is the case, we could be stuck with the same old sh!te as last year...(Perch, Bidwell, Caulker, Lynch, El-Khayati, Mackie)

Not sure that is fair. They have spent big I agree but selling Bale, Modric etc will have covered a lot of that. I agree with Tarbie, it's good to see someone come out and talk about the lack of sustainability of what some teams are doing.

      • Would like to see what Levy says and does next season if Spurs don't finish in the Champions League places

        • Levy has always invested in youth.

When Comolli was there their sole focus was buying the best youth around.

At the time parrett went there Levy was negotiating a deal for Bale.

He always had the view even then that by sourcing the best youth, you mitigate the costs of signing them in their prime and the odd sale generates further funds fir transfers.

Exactly and if we sell smithies for £5 million ,Holloway would be given maybe 25% of it,so hope smithies and Sylla stay

Same old same old for the past few seasons we are becalmed and will be left behind,Scowens thats your lot the writing is on the wall.

It will be ages before we even get a sniff of the playoffs,we will be a mediocre championship club for the foreseeable future
or worse i really fear for this season coming.

We have a novice Chairman a novice DOF nad a manager that is stiil living off his record from 10 years ago or so and still no leader on the pitch.

              • Realistically though is anyone we get in for £2-3m going to be better than what we already have? When you consider the market these days.

I think it's more supporters just wanting that excitement of seeing a new player, whether the player be practical for us or not. Supporters tend to get very bored of what they have very quickly these days.

Well Huddersfield would certainly get their 25% first !

Not sure there's decent right backs better than what we have for £2-3m, out there available though mate. Don't get me wrong I'd gladly take one if there was but it's a tricky job.

Take that Yiadom from Barnsley, rumour has it Swansea have bid £3m for him. Even Prem clubs are looking for a bargain.

Yeah that proves there are bargains out there but you know the old saying. , he who hesitates is lost ,and that what Les and co do fart arce about scraping the barrel instead of backing their judgement early , we only needed three players l/b c/b maybe striker don't know what's going on with the lad from Maidstone he won't cost a lot

                        • Who knows what they're doing. For all we know they could be trying extremely hard but just not getting the luck with certain players we have on our tight budget.

                          It is, what it is.
