  • The XI v Huddersfield? Time for Speed

Given beating Huddersfield a reach proposition, even at home, why not consider a team built for speed? Washington and Eze up front; Lualua, Wszolek, and Mackie behind them; Manning manning the middle; Furlong and Bidwell on the wings; Hall and Lynch in the middle.

Our "Dont change a winning team" is finish now so expect a new team with the new guys.

Agree that we need a re-think. Don't agree with the wholesale changes you are proposing.

Personally I'd like us to switch back to 4-4-2 and try out a little and large combo up front with Washington and Smith. Problem with that however is that it probably limits us a little in which offensive midfielders Ollie can select. I doubt he's going to pick Pawel, Ravel and Freeman together in a 4 man midfield, Huddersfield would have a field day.

Good to have options though, ain't it? I just hope that we don't see anything wacky this time around like Perch in central midfield. We've got a good enough squad now that we don't need to play people out of position.

        ----------------------Smithies--------------------

        Perch-----------Ned------------Hall-------Bidwell

        ------------Goss-----------------Manning---------

        ------------------------Ravel------------------------

        Pawel---------------Washington-----------Mackie

Watcha all think ? Or will he stick to the Toons team ?

That's a better team than what lined up against Newcastle in my opinion......although Goss is still an unknown. Might be tempted to rest Mackie and try Freeman out too!

On paper it is a better team and they have had a whole week to work the new guys.

Agree. Good team although would bring back Sylla if fit as that side has only scored 14 goals between them.

Got to be LuaLua and Pawel on the wings whatever formation we go. Give Mackie a rest. Those two with Washington down the middle would be potent on the counter

Swap out Ned for Lynch, and i'd keep furlong in personally but see where youre coming from with perch.

not sure it's time for Ravel starting but deffo the bench, or subbed at half time/60 minutes.

Goss starting is a must, he could be key to our holding/pressing/counter attacking style which is where it seems Ollie is heading.

Hall over Goss as a def.midfeilder because this is Huddersfield, and Give Lua Lua a chance from the start. I do also think it is still a match or two too early for Ravel.

Would like to see Lua Lua/Ravel start and sub in the match.

Could pop Lua Lua on the left but feel Mackie is the first name on the sheet after Smithies ATM.

We clearly need his drive and energy to get us into games, for now at least.

Is Ravel fully match fit and raring to go then?

On paper I like that a lot, but like Kev says, not sure Ravel is match fit enough to start. Also feel Goss not fully up to speed yet. It worked having Hall as a DM and I feel we have to respect Hudds, we can't be too open at the back.
