  • Your top 10 players of the 'Money Era'?

A span of about 10 years.

Who would be in your top 10?

I've come up with the following shortlist of those that have possibly contributed the most to the club during this time or made an impact during their short time at the club (point out if you feel i've left anyone out)

    Paddy Kenny
    Rob Green
    Alex Smithies

    Kyle Walker
    Danny Simpson

    Fitz Hall
    Kaspars Gorkšs
    Clint Hill
    Matthew Connolly
    Nedum Onuoha
    Ryan Nelsen
    Dickie Dunne
    Grant Hall

    Martin Rowlands
    Ákos Buzsáky
    Alejandro Faurlín
    Shaun Derry
    Joey Barton
    Ravel Morrison

    Lee Cook
    Wayne Routledge
    Adel Taarabt
    Jamie Mackie
    Andros Townsend
    Matt Phillips

    Heiđar Helguson
    Djibril Cissé
    Bobby Zamora
    Loďc Rémy
    Charlie Austin

We've seen plenty arrive that have been no doubt talented, but flop for whatever reason while at the club.

Pretty sure he was already here prior to the takeover

Top 3 Tarbs, Hill and Austin without any shadow of a doubt in my mind.

"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

Fitz Hall did have the best nickname ever though.

People picking Smithies in their lost and not Green (if going for a keeper at all) is a strange decision IMO (yes cue pelters).

Smithies has been fantastic for us and it is a total no brainer that he is our no 1 now and Green has been binned off, BBUUTTT - he has played for us for us for 2 half seasons (again, I reiterate, he has been fantastic) whereas Green had a couple of fantastic years for us, earning himself an England recall and was instrumental in us getting promoted for the second time. Granted his lats half season was shocking, but personally, find it a tad odd that if a keeper is in people's lists answering the OP's question that it would be Smithies ahead of Green.

Just throwing that in there for some discussion
