It wasn't hindsight though, was it?

Did you seriously think that CR or JFH had better credentials?

I think he like a lot of managers nowadays. Have great runs at certain clubs and then crash. None really keep it going year after year like Fergus did.

Not true - he did an excellent job at Derby before he was sacked because they had a bad run, but were still in the play-off places and five points off the leaders. It took a while to get Derby playing the way he wanted, but as soon as they did, they were playing very attractive football and winning. Once again, Tony, the master of the wrong decision strikes again!

6 months with a decent inherited side vs a League 2 title/top of League 1 at the time. Both young and promising managers, neither stood out as a dead cert in all honesty. Clement has had a good start, but then again we were brief table toppers too under JFH not that long ago.

Nothing to do with hindsight though.
He managed at Derby and did quite well as they were in the automatic promotion hunt.
Who knows how that would have panned out had they not sacked him.

He should have been offered the job at QPR, no doubt about that.
Someone possibly made a huge error there and appointed Ollie instead.

As stated in this thread, Swansea look like a well organized side now which is something that QPR could probably do with to cut out on conceding so many goals.

Two opening wins had QPR on top but they quickly fell away, you can hardly call that table toppers.
Before sky tv ran football, they didn't even bother with league tables until after 4 games or so, as they meant sweet fa.

We didn't have the suss / financial will to bring him home, not even when he was looking to come back to Blighty and we were in search of a manager (again). Either that or there was no way he would touch a club he loved with the current structure and personnel in place. Rangers would have been an ideal stepping stone, and don't forget the first time round we were still EPL.

What is absolutely beyond question - apart from his blood link to this club - was that his ability as a really good coach and potential manager had been flagged up by a succession of people who get the game and been successful at the highest level. Chris Ramsey (and then JFH) were instead pronounced as the second (and third) coming.

He did a perfectly good job at Derby - ask their fans right now what they reckon - and has achieved more at Swansea in a handful of games than his two predecessors did over the season to date. Hindsight doesn't even come into this one.

Not really sure how TF is wrong here.
                      Wasn't Clement the 'dream manager'?

I think he was our number 1 target, but for some reason we couldn't convince him.

Warburton was another fans favourite who the fans but given how he left Brentford and what's gone on at Rangers think his stock is now badly damaged and we dodged a bullet. Seems like a man 100% focused on himself like a toned down Sherwood

I wanted him back before he went to to Derby, however your statement about playing style is wrong.

on the other forum where I post they (Derby fans) weren't upset that he left as he was playing dull, negative football. He also got sacked as rumours of him shagging someone he shouldn't have.

So going by your usual Tony mix up, it would have been a usual QPR panto appointment if he is shagging about and playing dull football.

However I would still take him if Olly left and he wanted to join us - neither are going to happen.
