  • Encouraging Birch interview

Marc Bircham will be drilling into the QPR squad the history of the club and may even run quizzes on the Hoops. He wants the squad to fully understand the history of the club and believes it can reflect on performances on the pitch.

    He said:

“I'll be telling them about every sort of history with the club. I may do QPR quizzes away from home so they know about it. It's showing the fans and players how much it means to us and how much it means to them. Jimmy was unlucky but he's ex Chelsea and people who aren't QPR don't realise how big that is. It was always going to come up and that's no disrespect to him but he's ex Chelsea.

When it goes bad he has less time and that's how ex players work at clubs with their rivals. Fans couldn't connect to the team and that's been a problem in the past. There's been no bridge or connection to the team. There are no local players or ex affiliation and then it's on results and if they don't happen, they'll turn quicker. It's a results business.

We may have a couple more games where the fans are on our side but you need results in this league but hopefully we can do it in a way that the fans can be proud of and the players can be proud of wearing that badge.”

Not that hard really is it? Just a bit of realism. Can still be a decent sized club making good money in the future, but don't throw the baby out with the bath water while trying to get there.

This attitude post Warnock's dismissal years ago would have had us right up there.

I appreciate the media teams efforts over the past few seasons with the #wertogether hashtags etc but it all seemed so fake. Leroy Fer was so enthusiastic singing in his Xmas top but ran around the pitch like a lame duck.

It feels so much more real this time round.

Am pleased to hear that our squad will soon know of the likes of Brian Williams, Paul McGee, Dominic Iorfa, Gus Caesar, ex Captain Ji....

Ah it's just so good having those two back at the club.

Feels like we are QPR again.

Connection. Big thing as I for one have definitely felt disillusioned the last few seasons. Just hasn't felt like my club. Certainly does now though and I wasn't a big fan of Ollie coming back. I was wrong. We needed that.

Fair play Jim admitting you were wrong about Ollie

We all feel like we have the old Rangers back again

I think we are now definatly on the right path to being a great club again.

Happy to admit I was wrong mate. Over time results may prove me right I don't know and I hope not, but on reflection we done the big name manager thing with Redcrap & Hughesless, we done the up and coming manager thing with Ramsey & JFH so now it's time for the emotional attachment. Whatever happens, we can't say the club hasn't tried all angles!

Exactly same as you Jimmy didn't want Holloway back but the atmosphere around the whole club has changed my mind. Even if it doesn't work out I won't criticise the decision to appoint him. I really hope he makes a success of it and if so, we as fans are in for a real treat.

I was saying I wanted Ollie back at the beginning of the season. It was obvious something was wrong with the club, no passion Fans were of no importance and as a result they weren't interested in attending games. I'm not saying we will suddenly start winning every game or finish top of the division, but I don't think it will be for want of trying. Previous managers really didn't seem interested in our club.
