  • Ray Brady, RIP (played for Rs in early 1960s)

Anyone on here old enough to remember Ray Brady (brother of Liam Brady)?

Played for Millwall, QPR and St Patricks Athletic in early 1960s, picking up 6 caps for Republic of Ireland.

Died this week aged 79 yrs.

Have to agree. The Brady brothers were well before Liam. Maybe their mother had a child late in life.

Ron Gray the Millwall scout went to the Brady home to sign Ray and Pat. Into the kitchen dribbling a football came their much younger brother Liam. Gray said' 'I'll be back for that fella later' Ray was an uncompromising centre half and Pat a right back

a season before I really started taking a serious interest. Rest in Peace Ray
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most
