  • Team For Sheffield Wednesday At Hiilsborough

    Smithies
    Perch
    Onuoha
    Caulker
    Lynch or Hamalainen
    Borysiuk
    Luongo
    Gladwin or Wsolek
    Chery
    Washington
    Sylla.

    Subs.

    Polter
    Shodipo
    Yeni
    Cousins
    Henry

Ive only put the 'ors' due to match fitness.
Actually think that is our best side as well even when Hall, Bidwell and Yeni etc fit.
    Any thoughts or different team?

I like Hamalainen and think hes another one with a bright future, but hope we dont have to start him regularly just yet.
Brizzle targeted his side when he came on yesterday.

If Lynch or Hall are fit I'd re-shuffle accordingly and put Perch at left back.

A lot of hate on twitter for Gladwin last night. Was he as bad as some are making out?
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
            Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

Thought he did OK considering he has been out for a month or so... I quite like him.

Not at all, but Henry didnt play and Nervous Nerys had one of his best games for us, so only leaves Gladwin by default.

Part of it was probably just amazement that he was sent on rather than Wsolek. Could not believe it personally.

As for his performance, whilst there was effort, very little else. Unless you include the ridiculous attemp at a free kick that sailed over the scoreboard. How on earth he was allowed anywhere near it was astonishing.

Back to 4-5-1 away from home, very effective in that formation on the roads, but 4-3-3 at home.

Would swap out Sylla for Polter if we do go 4-5-1 but keep Connor out wide.

                      Smithies
                      Nedum
                      Perch
                      Caulker
TBC LB, As I dont know if I would play the young lad in a tough game.

                      Wzolek
                      Luongo
                      Ariel
                      Connor

                      Chery
                      Polter

They can't have been at the game then. Gladwin was fine when he came on. No world beater but certainly not worthy of a load of stick. Had a poor free kick, but played quite well I thought. He is another that falls into the "scapegoat" category though unfortunately.

Would personally go with something like

                          Perch Ned Caulker Niko
                          Mass Ariel
                          Pole Chery Washington
                          Sylla

Brother and dad thought he was pony mate to be honest. But his introduction seemed to lift the rest of them for some reason. Gladwin should be nowhere near the starting 11.

Each to their own, at the back we were saying how surprised we were that he done OK! I don't disagree ref starting 11, wouldn't be in my squad tbh, but certainly wouldn't single him out for criticism last night.
