"Redknapp was filmed by undercover reporters discussing a match on which “the lads” had “all had a spread bet” on the scoreline. His players allegedly bet on themselves to win the match, and one of them allegedly told a football agent to “remortgage your house” because the odds were favourable."

Can't be any Rangers players, we never won any f acking games.....

He always had a dubious rep. Sounds almost like he was boasting. Hope he gets his comeuppance.

The Telegraph "outings" are getting worse. This is a total non-story tbf. Shame, was hoping to have the money shot with Redknapp taking a brown envelope full of notes in return for loaning Niko Kranjcar in.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Maybe he paid them to edit that bit out?

I would imagine the money they earn and the spare time on their hands, players are up to skulduggery as much as the managers. Quite a few pot-less ex-players who have squandered millions down the bookies. Although it seems the players backed their own team and not the opposition, who's to say someone didn't have a word in one of the oppositions ear. Wrong, whichever way you look at it
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Why should they name and shame Harry Redknapp? He is definetly one of their own.

A game where we got battered and scored against the run of play was at Southampton on 2/3/13. Was 1-1 at halftime, we won 2-1. Granero subbed on 53 mins. Southampton were near the bottom too.

Unless they bet on us to lose...would explain some of the absolute shite they served up.

All of this stuff is at the margins. People saying they're willing to break FA rules, but little evidence that they actually did it or would do it. Every video features alcohol - get them a bit drunk then start asking leading questions....all very sordid - is this an attempt to clean up the game or just to smear it? If the Telegraph had any balls they wouldn't have redacted all of the names of the players who supposedly took bets - they took them out because they were afraid they'd get sued. The only guy who definitely did something wrong, possibly criminal, took the envelope with £5K in and got sacked.

If it's common that players are betting on matches then the FA is asleep on the job - hard to do anything in today's electronic world without leaving traces - this must be far easier to trace than it would have been 20 years ago. Cricket, with a lot less money than the FA have to spend, seems to have really cracked down on this, what's the FA up to?
