Default Content that advocates against an individual, group, or organization

Content that advocates against an individual, group, or organization

WeAreTheRangersBoys believes strongly in the freedom of expression, but also recognises the need to protect the quality for our users.

We don't want to see harassing or bullying content, or on content that incites hatred or promotes discrimination, prejudice or violence against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity. Basically content that incites or advocates harm against an individual or group.

    harassing or bullying content
content that incites or promotes hatred against a group or individuals
Content that encourages others to believe that a group or individual is inhuman or inferior
Content that attacks a person or group on the basis sexual orientation or gender identity

    * Please note that these examples are not limited to the following.

    Racism

This message is for all members of this site. All the moderation team have discussed this issue and we all agree it's not wanted on this site. We mention lifetime bans yet issue warnings and small bans. Truth be told the latter doesn't help because it soon starts up again, and all the moderation team have had enough of it now. Therefore we've all agreed from today that if he posts anything remotely racist we'll issue an indefinite ban and will be sticking to it.

This is also based on complaints received from other posters; as well as out of respect to the long-standing ethos and integrity of the forum and its rules. Further, we are perfectly capable of telling the difference between light-hearted banter - and (overt or covert) racism; the latter we have an absolute zero-tolerance policy over.

If a thread gets locked it's for a good reason; anyone with questions regarding this statement can PM one of the mods. We try to be fair and open about everything we do, so please try to make our lives a little easier and police yourselves. We are all human and mostly QPR fans; live in peace and be happy as life is short.

    Default Warnings (No Infraction points)

    Warnings

Should anyone post something that is either against the rules or the spirit of this site, then they will get a warning. Just the one though, as the next infringement will result in a 24 hour ban, as the points system is no longer in place.

If they do it again, they will get one more warning before a 1 week ban will kick in. For those that persist, this will be followed by bans of 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months etc., although one additional warning will be given prior to any ban.

We feel that this method should now be very clear to all and easy to understand. Furthermore, any public complaining about moderation decisions, or the starting of pointless threads coming out in support of somebody who has brought sanctions upon themselves, will be treated in exactly the same way, ie. warning / ban. If you genuinely want to ask a question as to why certain action has been taken, then simply PM one of us and you receive a reply in due course.

Quite obviously, just as is the case now, only a tiny percentage of regular posters will be affected by these sanctions. And just as obviously, it is not something any of us want to be spending our time implementing. It is just a sad fact that in order for the forum not to be ruined for the majority, then measures such as those above are required to prevent it from happening.

Default Please help us to help you

Before creating a new thread please can all posters kindly first check to see there isn't already another thread on the same subject. Several threads on the same subject clutters up the board and makes navigation much more difficult for all concerned. Furthermore good threads often get pushed off the front page and are missed as a result. It also saves the moderators a lot of time and headaches having to constantly merge threads on what is a very busy and popular forum.

Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated.

    You R's!

    Default WeAreTheRangersBoys.com Statement

    Date: 06-01-2015

This site has no agendas, what you write is your own opinions. The same goes for all the moderators & administrators on here, when we post discussing football it's our own opinion. We don't dictate what you can and can't say, in actual fact all the moderators disagreed with Kirill's post and several of us found it deeply offensive.. If another member would have posted that then that would be their opinion, not mine or yours. This is what a forum is for, we don't want to dictate to anyone because then that would mean there's an agenda.

We're discussing this at present and please bear in mind that inevitably even the moderating team here will always have their own opinions on QPR. We don't expect moderators to modify their opinions to suit a prevalent view. Moderators are only different from regular posters inasmuch as they have to monitor posts for adherence with the forum rules, move and/or delete posts, and in extreme cases ban someone. Moderating can be difficult and ungrateful. But the process of moderation is transparent: the owner of the site always knows what moderators do. Moderators are in place because they are tested and trusted. They are judged by their performance, not by their views.

Tony needs time off from QPR, it's bad timing but he has to do the right thing, which I feel he is doing. I can't imagine what he's going through right now but I do know he has support from the majority including me and the moderation team.
