  • Stephane Mbia

Having a drink round my mates and his dad pops in to say hello after being in China for 3 weeks with his work.
Mates dad is well into his football so was saying about the recent transfers of players recently that have gone over there for Big Money.
Turns to me and says.. One of your rejects is being worshipped over there now as well.

    Turns out to be Mbia.

Apparently being paid mega bucks by some real sh*t Chinese side.

Just had a look online and he joined Hebei China Fortune and is being paid £5million over 3 years.
Has joined Edu, Gervinho and Kakuta at the club, and all 4 are about to be joined by Lavezzi of PSG that is rumoured to earn £8million a season from the Club.
Chinese are paying Mega Bucks for players it seems, and quite a few now seem to be moving over there obviously for the Money.

Reading up on that Chinese League the clubs involved have so many targets in mind from Europe including Sandro.

He might not be too hard to shift in the summer now.

And also plenty of areas that aren't far off being 3rd world. Crazy country.

            Funny old game isn't it.
China nowadays is a capitalist-driven economy but still displays much of the ruin of its communist regime which only really ceased about 30 years ago. Shame the loads of money washing around isn't distributed a bit more liberally among those still living in total poverty

The transfer window in China is still open apparently. Our negotiators should be doing their best to shift the likes of Green, Traore, Yun and Diakite before they leave for free in the summer.

Might be our best bet for getting decent fees on Sandro/Fer as well.

When is it ever it any country? That is the downside of capitalism but communism doesn't work so that's what we are stuck with.

Quite liked M'Bia. Got given a hard time by some fans but put a shift in and seemed to want to do well at a time when we were lumbered with some quite shocking mercenaries. Not half as bad as some made out.

But you know there are huge differences between capitalist countries when it comes to inequality, some are pretty equal like Sweden or Denmark while others are mental like South Africa, having had IMF policies forced upon them. And of course there are alternatives to capitalism, it's just that those who have had the greatest success in playing the capitalist game don't want you to think that. Imagine what feudal overlords would have agreed on at the time, "there is no alternative to feudalism!"

exactly. for a government that has stupid amounts of money, there are some proper sht holes. even places that you'd think they'd want to pay attention to, like where most of the agriculture happens.

Shenzhen is just prosperous bc its the mainland china city right over the border from Hong Kong. So a lot of banking formality/legality stuff happens in that city, and thus for big fees.
