  • Mikele Leigertwood

Retires from football because of an ongoing hip problem.
Definitely divided opinion among QPR fans. Mine was that he wasn't the best midfielder but was by no means the worst we have had.
    Best of luck, Legs.

I liked Leigertwood, good honest player who always tried his best. I think some of the stick he got towards the end of his time here from some of the fans was disgusting.

Nothing but best wishes from me!

I think he got so much stick because at the time wasn't he our record signing?

EDIT - Or Paladini said he was a record signing and he turned out not to be or something.

He should have played RB and was never a CM.

Remember he scored two crackers against Stoke (I think)

OK player, harshly criticised by some
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

Yeah I remember that game. Buzz capped off a 3-0 win, what a great day that was. Stoke pushing for promotion, us languishing near the bottom. Awesome performance. He got MOTM too I think. In fact I remember he scored a fair few crackers for us, Leicester away on his debut, Forest and Hull at home to name a couple. As others have said though, he blew hot and cold. He was either very good or bloody awful. There was no in between.

Could of been much better than he showed imo.

When he was on it he was unstoppable in the championship, unfortunately we didn't see too many of those days.

When he was playing for us he seemed to score every time I was over. I saw him score at Leicester from about 35 yards; and an absolute thunderbolt at home, also from long range, possibly against Barnsley in a 5-2 win.

Definitely fond memories here and I wish him all the best.
