Can you tell me bar his 2 goals anything he has done this season? He has always been a passenger in games/zero assists/never set up any chances and never even beaten a full back and put some good balls in? He offers nothing attacking wise. Hence we score so little and create barely anything. We need wins. To do that we need good attacking players. He is simply not one.

this is true. also a balanced team is made up of many elements and mackie is useful and will improve. if space needs to be made in the squad there are others who deserve move on before letting him go.

Well, let's leave aside his goals, as that would create a false impression wouldn't it, bearing in mind only 2 players have scored more this season.

He is just about the only person other than Adel, capable of getting some positive reaction from the crowd. Granted, that says more about the rest of them than it may about him, but seeing his desire to win the ball and do his best for our football club makes me glad we have him.

He may not be the complete footballer or blessed with unbelievable talent, but my original point was simply that there are a very large number of other players who should be got rid of before we even think of letting him go anywhere. Mainly, the expensive ones on much higher salaries that have so far been responsible for one and a half seasons of abject failure and who appear to be taking us down, rather than one of the hard working, committed blokes that got us into this league in the first place.

Stats don't tell the full story. SWP was poor/very poor last season. But he was top of the assists chart for QPR last season. That stat hardly tells the truth about his performances in the same way the 2 goals you want to use for Mackie tell nothing about his performances this season.

His desire/heart and effort are superb. Not arguing that and in the big games like Spurs/Chelsea etc when we don't have the ball his chasing and desire are excellent. Trouble is though when he has the ball he does nothing! We need goals to win games and our wingers need to provide service which he cannot do due to lack of ability. As i say i cant remember him beating a full back or creating a chance this season. With games against lesser teams coming up where we have the ball more, his tactic of running into a full back and losing it is not good enough. We need quality in those areas. Not just effort with limited ability. Saturday was a classic example of him having the ball more against lesser opposition and looking a worse player for it.

Harry knows that to stay up we need to win games. You win games with quality which is why our Jamie can leave.

Can't argue with much of that at all.

But the highlighted bit is reason enough alone to explain why there are loads that we should get rid of before Jamie.

On the other hand, things have got to the stage when it will be difficult to get anyone else to take them.

Perhaps a few more Turkish clubs have some spare funds.

He's the sort of player who's perfect for a team in our position. It's all well and good saying he's not good enough and we should buy better etc..but no amazing player will sign for a bottom club, and if they do it's for money meaning they'll probably put minimal effort in.

Mackie may not be the most skillfull, runs into walls blablabla....But he's good enough for us at the moment. Chips in with the odd goal and assist, right mid or striker. IMO he's more than capable playing in the Premier League and has proven it, which is why Fulham and Norwich are now (and previously) linked with him. He gets into positions to score and that's what we need, although his finishing this season has been poor. He's had a number of chances this season that he should have buried but has not. But at least he's a threat for us. Last but not least of all is his workrate and passion, which is important for him and the rest of the team as it should drive them on.
